About this studio
Arts Ballet Theatre of Florida is a professional classical and neoclassical ballet company founded in 1997 and based at 15939 Biscayne Boulevard in North Miami Beach, now in its 29th anniversary season under artistic director Vladimir Issaev. It presents full seasons of classical, neoclassical and contemporary repertoire, including Issaev's Nutcracker performed with local children, works by Vicente Nebrada and Bournonville, and new commissions, and it takes part in the International Ballet Festival of Miami, Men Who Dance, the Daniel Lewis Dance Sampler and Miami Dance Hub. Its dancers are drawn from around the world. Alongside performances the company runs an extensive education arm: an affiliated ballet school, the Arts Ballet Goes to School outreach program, a Dancing with Disabilities program, sensory-friendly performances, teacher workshops, and a summer intensive plus summer camps and mini-intensives. Arts Ballet Encounters offers free open rehearsals. The company is supported by Miami-Dade Cultural Affairs, Broward Cultural Division and other funders.
