Auditions Held For A HOLIDAY GEM At The Gem Theater 10/18, 10/19

One More Productions - one of Southern California's leading musical theater companies - announces auditions for A Holiday GEM on Monday, October 18 and Tuesday, October 19, 2010 at THE GEM THEATER in Garden Grove. Auditions start at 7m pm. Call backs will be on Wednesday October 20 at 8 pm.

This production is in final negotiations to be broadcast on KOCE-TV, one of the nation's top 10 public broadcast television stations.

This is a down home Christmas Special-think Andy Williams, Carol Burnett, Lawrence Welk and Donnie & Marie all rolled into one and catapulted into 2010! This is a fast moving Holiday Revue, from family traditional carols to modern holiday hits. It has the feel of a Broadway Revue but the sincerity of a family Christmas.

The character breakdown is:

Santa Claus: Jolly, portly, lovable, good with children, must sing and move well.

Mrs. Claus: Lovable, sweet, kindhearted, good with children, round, must sing and move well.

8 Women between the ages of 18 and 35. Must be strong performers and great vocalists, must move well and be able to dance in three inch heel. Should be comfortable with harmonies and be able to partner dance. Looking for strong soloist and vibrant performers.

8 Men between the ages of 18 and 35. Must be strong performers and great vocalists, must move well and be able to caryy a show. Should be comfortable with harmonies and be able to partner dance. Looking for strong soloist and vibrant performers.

Children between ages of 6 and 17. Must be able to act professionally, sing, and move well. Children will be used in first act only. Looking for trained individuals with previous experience. Child actors will be treated as all other actors and must come to rehearsals prepared and focused and be able to work without the aid of a parent or guardian.


A Holiday GEM auditions, rehearsals and performances will take place at THE GEM THEATER located at 12852 Main Street, Garden Grove, CA 92840.


For the auditions, Please prepare a 16 - 32 measure cut; an accompanist will be provided. Be prepared to dance. Sign-ins begin at 6:30 when the doors to the theater open. First come, first seen. Please bring a resume and current photo. You will not be seen if you do not have sheet music.

Rehearsals begin on October 25, 2010. Performances run November 26 - thru December 12, 2010. Performances take place Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings at 8 pm and Sunday matinees at 3 pm. There is no Thanksgiving rehearsal or show. There is no pay for this production.
