This smash Noel Coward (Private Lives) comedy hit of the London and Broadway stages finds a hilarious new afterlife at The Kate! When fussy author Charles accidentally conjures up the restless spirit of his long-dead first wife Elvira, all bets are off for his new wife, Ruth and their well-ordered life. When Elvira’s ghost is forced to take up residence, Charles is at his wits end and Ruth thinks it’s all her husband’s imagination. The house is thrown into a hilarious uproar and becomes too-tight quarters for the carefree Elvira, controlling Ruth, and Charles, caught between the two! Can batty medium Madame Arcati help banish Elvira’s spirit before the whole house comes down? Blithe Spirit has delighted Broadway audiences three times – most recently in 2009 for which Angela Lansbury (who was 83 years old at the time) won the Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Play.
