Booth Amphitheatre Seeks Director for Shakespeare Event
Booth Amphitheatre and the Town of Cary are in search of a Director for Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream; scheduled to perform August 25 - 28, 2011 at Booth Amphitheatre. Organizers, including second-year producer Deb Royals, hope to build on the success of last year's production of Twelfth Night by again showcasing some of the best local talent in the region, in all aspects of theatre.
Interested individuals or theater companies should submit a resume or proposal via info@rprk.com no later than 5 p.m. on Friday, February 18th. Interviews will take place the week of February 21st with a final decision expected by March 1st. Subsequent auditions for actors will be scheduled at a later date. Booth Amphitheatre is recognized as one of the top outdoor venues in the state and offers an eclectic mix of concerts, festivals, Symphony and theatre events from April - October. Producer Deb Royals-Mizerk has been the Artistic Director of the Justice Theater Project since 2004 and received a BFA from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She finished her graduate work in Theatre and Performance Studies at Northwestern University. Deb is currently a doctoral candidate in the department of Communication Studies at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in Performance Studies.
