To save money, Jon has been filing tax returns listing the pair as married. The day of reckoning comes when the Internal Revenue Service informs the a?oecouplea?? they're going to be investigated. Leslie masquerades as a housewife, aided by Jon's fiancée, Kate. Complicating matters further, Leslie and Kate are having an affair behind Jon's back, Jon's mother drops in unexpectedly to meet her son's fiancée, and Leslie's ex-girlfriend shows up demanding to know why Leslie has changed and won't see her anymore. Like a cross between I Love Lucy and Some Like it Hot.

Set in Damon Runyon's mythical New York City, Guys and Dolls is an oddball romantic comedy. Gambler, Nathan Detroit, tries to find the cash to set up the biggest craps game in town while the authorities breathe down his neck; meanwhile, his girlfriend and nightclub performer, Adelaide, laments that they've been engaged for fourteen years. Nathan turns to fellow gambler, Sky Masterson, for the dough, and Sky ends up chasing the straight-laced missionary, Sarah Brown, as a result. Guys and Dolls takes us from the heart of Times Square to the cafes of Havana, Cuba, and even into the sewers of New York City, but eventually everyone ends up right where they belong.

BWW Review: The Syracuse City Ballet Presents THE NUTCRACKER at The Oncenter Crouse Hinds Theater

The festive treat of The Nutcracker presented by The Syracuse City Ballet has once again entertained numerous audiences this past weekend to kick off the 2019 Holiday season. Under the devoted direction of the Syracuse City Ballet founding Artistic Director Kathleen Rathbun, the show once again brought memories that will last a lifetime. Featuring the choreography by Kathleen Rathbun, staging and additional choreography by Aldo K. Santiago, along with familiar music by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaiovsky the Syracuse City Ballet's production features local professional, pre-professional, and student dancers. In certain performances there are different dancers taking on the roles. The heart, beauty, and energy of this production is always a highlight for this time of year and I was treated to their final 3 PM performance on Sunday, December 1st.

Syracuse Stage and the Syracuse University Department of Drama is now enchanting audiences with their production of Disney's Beauty and the Beast. The musical is under the always superb direction of Donna Drake and musical director Brian Cimmet, the creative team that brought the last two holiday favorites to Syracuse Stage. Like their past productions, Wizard of Oz and Elf their production of Beauty and the Beast kicks off the Holiday season with magical sets, costumes, and dazzling talent.

Redhouse Arts Center continues its commitment to fresh, innovative work with a musical written especially for Central New York, A Syracuse Christmas Carol. This musical treat infused with Syracuse flavor by LJ Fecho and Michael O'Flaherty is a family- friendly take on the Dickens' classic that is sure to put you in a festive mood this holiday season. The a?oeLove Boat's' Fred Grandy returns to the Redhouse Stage to star as Ebenezer Scrooge along with Artistic Director Hunter Foster, who will once again direct, following his recent successful Redhouse Directorial debut of RENT in September. The show is choreographed by veteran Lisa Shriver, who worked with Foster on a similar show they created for The Goodspeed Opera House in Connecticut. With hummable Christmas tunes and a Broadway style score, you can be the first to experience this memorable show which runs from December 12th thru 22nd.

Mac-Haydn's RAGTIME Wins Outstanding Production Of A Musical

The Mac-Haydn Theatre took home five Berkshire Theatre Critics Awards at the fourth annual ceremony held on Monday, November 11th, including the highly regarded Outstanding Production of a Musical award for their 2019 production of Ragtime. The theatre was thrilled to receive this recognition as well as two other awards for one of the most ambitious productions in Mac-Haydn history.

COME FROM AWAY opened at RBTL's Auditorium Theatre on Tuesday, November 19th. During the shows run in Rochester, November 19-24, COME FROM AWAY and RBTL celebrated multiple small acts of kindness. Following suit with the themes of COME FROM AWAY and the kindness shown by those in Gander Newfoundland on 9/11 and the days that followed, RBTL and COME FROM AWAY are pleased to announce that a portion of proceeds from the Wednesday evening, 11/20 performance of COME FROM AWAY were donated to the Rochester Firefighters' Benevolent Association (RFBA). Cast members Kevin Carolan and James Earl Jones II presented the donation to Devon Monin, who is not only the Secretary for the Rochester Firefighters' Benevolent Association, but a firefighter as well. Prior to Wednesday evening's performance, there was a special recognition to those first responders in the audience. The RFBA was created back in the early 1800s and many generations of Rochester Fire Department personnel have kept the association going through the decades that have passed since then. Pavel Vinnitsky, Associate Clarinetist With The Metropolitan Opera Orchestra Will Perform With Hoff-Barthelson's Festival Orchestra

Bach's The Art of the Fugue, BWV 1080 (his final composition); Mozart's Clarinet Concerto in A, K. 622 (his final concerto) and Haydn's Symphony No. 104, in D, Hoboken 1/4 London (his final symphony) can all be heard at Hoff-Barthelson Music School's Festival Orchestra's Winter Concert. The concert, under the musical direction of Jun Nakabayashi a?" who also orchestrated the version of the Art of the Fugue that the orchestra will perform a?" takes place Saturday, December 14, 2019, at 8:00 p.m., at the Community Unitarian Universalist Congregation, 468 Rosedale Avenue, White Plains, NY. Clarinetist Pavel Vinnitsky, associate clarinetist with the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra joins the Festival Orchestra as guest soloist for the Mozart Clarinet Concerto.
Bay Street Theater Mourns The Lose Of Laurel Griggs

Bay Street Theater & Sag Harbor Center for the Arts would like to express condolences to the family and friends of Laurel Griggs, who was a 13- year old student and Broadway actress who recently passed away from a massive asthma attack. Her sudden death stunned her Broadway and Bay Street family as castmates remembered her as an a?oeold soula?? and a?oealways happy,a?? while her Bay Street fellow campers were shocked and saddened as word finally got around.  Broadway dimmed its light in honor of the promising teen actor, and she was remembered at a service at Chelsea's Arte Café, which was attended by friends and entertainment figures.

RBTL had the honor and great opportunity to recognize local veterans, military members, and their families as well as their service and sacrifice in honor of Veterans Day.
