Geva Names Jenni Werner as New Director of Literary and Artistic Programs

Artistic Director Mark Cuddy and Executive Director Tom Parrish have announced that Jenni Werner will join Geva Theatre Center as Director of Literary and Artistic Programs. Ms. Werner's appointment continues Geva's mission to develop and produce new works for the American Theatre and nurture the artists who create them through a spectrum of commissioning-to-fruition programming characterized by strong dramaturgical support. She will start full-time at Geva Theatre Center at the beginning of September 2011.

Visitors can spend a full day celebrating the Hudson River and learning about its ecology at Van Cortlandt Manor's River Day event on Sunday, Aug. 7. The festival-style River Day, which takes place from 12-5, is devoted to the history and ecology of the area's watershed. It features kayak rides, performances, and hands-on activities for all ages. Fire Damages Mac-Haydn Theatre

The Mac-Haydn Theatre, which since 1969 has been bringing musicals to life in a unique 350-seat theatre-in-the-round, where every seat is less than 30 feet from the stage, suffered damage from a fire this week.
