The Marvelous Wonderettes Opens at Merry-Go-Round Playhouse 9/14

Take four lifelong girlfriends who just happen to be an amazing singing group, add every great girl group song from the fifties and sixties, throw in the Senior Prom and Ten-Year Reunion then shake, rattle and roll until it almost hurts to laugh and what have you got? The Marvelous Wonderettes at Merry-Go-Round Playhouse.

Holly O'Brien, Belle from MGR's production of Disney's Beauty and the Beast, returns to play the attention-hog beauty queen, Cindy Lou. The ditsy, bubble gum-chewing Suzy is played by Ithaca College graduate, Meredith Beck, in her MGR debut. Both Julia Goretsky and Lulu Lloyd reprise the roles of the tomboy trouble-maker Betty Jean and teacher's pet Missy, respectively, from past regional Theater Productions.

Ithaca graduate and MGR alum, Tricia Tanguy, who covered all four roles at various times during the Off-Broadway production of The Marvelous Wonderettes in New York, makes her directorial debut. Janet Miller, the choreographer from the Off-Broadway production of the show, will choreograph and Mark Goodman returns as Musical Director. From "Stupid Cupid" to "It's My Party" to "Son of a Preacher Man" to "Respect," this song-packed show is sure to please audiences of all ages.

General Admission Tickets are $37-$43. Discounts are available for Seniors (62+), Students (w/ID), and Youth (under 18). Group rates are available for parties of 15 or more.
