Georgia Shreve, composer and writer, announced the release of her first album entitled “Paradise” featuring the Manhattan Contemporary Chamber Ensemble on May 17th worldwide. The album is made up of three original compositions by the New York composer: Dante's Paradise, Portraits of the 20thCentury, and Fantasia on Celtic Themes. A digital release of the album is now available on iTunes, Spotify,GooglePlay, and Amazon.

Kent Tritle is Director of Cathedral Music and Organist at New York's Cathedral of St. John the Divine, the largest cathedral in the world; Music Director of the Oratorio Society of New York, the acclaimed 200-voice volunteer chorus; and Music Director of Musica Sacra, New York's longest continuously performing professional chorus. The 2018-19 season of “New York's choral conducting superstar” (Time Out New York) is marked by the expansion of the Oratorio Society's Carnegie Hall season from three to four concerts, which will include Kullervo, the rarely-performed symphonic poem by Sibelius, Szymanowski's Stabat Mater, and Verdi's Requiem.
Chamber Orchestra Vienna – Berlin To Make N. America Debut At Bravo! Vail

The Bravo! Vail Music Festival has just commenced its 2018 season and already it is tempting patrons with the announcement that Chamber Orchestra Vienna – Berlin will make its North America debut at the distinguished summer classical music festival in 2019 alongside lauded violinist Anne-Sophie Mutter. The performance also marks Anne-Sophie Mutter's Bravo! Vail debut. Bravo! Vail Artistic Director Anne-Marie McDermott made the announcement from stage to a thrilled audience of nearly 2,000 at the Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater. On Saturday, July 28, 2018 at 8:00pm, Spectrum presents contemporary Chinese-American pianist Jenny Q Chai in Sonorous Brushes, a new multi-sensory program employing Chai's unique form of synesthesia. The program explores repertoire that lives at the intersection of color and sound, exploring this meeting of the senses through important works of the colorful Impressionistic era paired with new works created using Artificial Intelligence technology. In order to fully realize this concept, Chai completed a six-month residency at Cite des Arts in Paris, where she worked simultaneously on the musical performance and the paintings associated with each score. Sonorous Brushes was designed and premiered at Wigmore Hall in London on June 26, 2018.

Once again, the whispers, thunder and wonders of the Great Auditorium Pipe Organ will ring out during The Ocean Grove Camp Meeting Association (OGCMA)'s Free Organ Recital Series, a signature part of its summer-long program of family entertainment. OGCMA's Pipe Organ is among the largest in the world and is the heart-beat of this Christian Victorian resort on the Jersey Shore. The historic 11,000-pipe instrument was built and installed in 1908 with original design innovations that became standard elements still extant in modern organ construction. It is made of over 40,000 feet of California No. 1 Sugar Pine and weighs 20-25 tons. In its illustrious 109-year history, this remarkable instrument has been played by numerous distinguished organists, including Will C. The 2018 winners of the New York International Piano Competition (TheNYIPC), under the auspices of the Stecher & Horowitz Foundation, were announced at an Awards Ceremony at Manhattan School of Music on Friday evening (June 22). Prizes and awards totaling $50,000 were presented.  Robert Sherman served as Master of Ceremonies.  The week-long event began on June 18.

The New World Symphony, America's Orchestral Academy (NWS), is excited to welcome Carnegie Hall's NYO2 for their first-ever residency in Miami, July 16-21, 2018. NYO2 is an intensive summer orchestral training program that features some of the finest young instrumentalists from across the U.S. (ages 14-17), including several South Florida musicians this summer. The NWS and Carnegie Hall, two organizations with deep commitments to education and artist training, have partnered for the first year to provide unique opportunities for NYO2. The NYO2 program is an extension of Carnegie Hall's acclaimed NYO-USA (the National Youth Orchestra of the USA), for ages 16-19, and was created with a particular focus on attracting students from communities underserved by, and underrepresented in, the classical orchestral field.

Under the baton of its founding music director, George Rothman, Riverside Symphony will offer the final concert of its 37th season at Alice Tully Hall today evening, June 6 at 8:00PM. In a memorial performance, the orchestra will open the concert with Schubert's Symphony No. 8 “Unfinished” before proceeding to the world premiere of Artistic Director Anthony Korf's Concerto for Violin and Orchestra “Three Epigrams.” This 25-minute work, commissioned by The Roger Shapiro Fund for New Music, will feature local virtuoso Jesse Mills, a much in-demand artist and founding member of the Horszowski Trio. Sibelius' radiant, yet less-familiar Symphony No. 3 in C major will conclude the concert.
