The Bushwick Starr will present an evening of two short works performed by award-winning and treasured actor, David Greenspan. Based on Aristotle's Poetics and the essays of Gerald F. Else, The Argument is a passionate student's love-letter and farewell to his teacher -- reminding us of the personal pathos that binds us to the Greeks, and firing us to capture that chimera, art. Plays is Gertrude Stein's whimsical and provocative lecture on theatre; a hidden gem of theatricality and wit that only Stein could have delivered. *The Argument was first presented by Target Margin Theater, and Plays was first presented by The Foundry Theatre.

The Quint Quintet to Play Madison Theatre, 12/8

On Sunday, December 8 at 3:00pm, renowned violinist Philippe Quint's Quint Quintet will perform 'A Night of Tango' at Molloy College's Madison Theatre (1000 Hempstead Ave.) The Quint Quintet was founded by the four-time Grammy Award Nominated violinist in 2009. The ensemble is dedicated to exploring the music of Astor Piazzolla and Argentine Tango. The quintet will include bandoneonist JP Jofre, double bassist Pedro Giraudo, electric guitarist Claudio Ragazzi, and pianist Octavio Brunetti. Russian tango dancers, Michael Nadtochi and Zoya Altmark will also appear.

Riding the successes of Blithe Spirit and The Pajama Game, the Gallery Players presents Equus as the next production of its 47th Season. Alred Gingold* (Manhattan Theatre Club, Metropolitan Playhouse), leads the cast in the behemoth role of Martin Dysart. Joining him are Dean Thomas and Adelind Horan as Alan Strang and Jill Mason, respectively, in their Gallery premieres. Gallery alumni Rosalind Ashford* (Gallery: History Boys) and Greg Horton* (Gallery: A Man of No Importance; NYIT 2012 Outstanding Actor in a Lead Role) will appear once again as Dora and Frank Strang. After leading The History Boys to success last season, Mark Gallagher will again direct aided by Choreographer Christiana Axlesen. The production will be brought to life under Set Designer Young Jaung, Costume Designer Tony Johnson, Lighting Designer Scott Borowka, Sound Designer Jacob Subotnick, Props Designer Sara Slagle, and Production Stage Manager Kathleen Parker. The cast includes J.B. The Dirty Blondes announce their third one-day-play festival, DEADLINE on November 24, 2013 at renowned Galapagos Art Space. The Brooklyn-based company will bring together the best of New York's avant-garde playwrights, directors, and actors to work intensively on creating a night of original work over the course of only one day. The culminating performance will feature six original 10-minute plays centered on a newspaper headline from that day. Founding member and playwright Ashley Jacobson will create commercial interludes as a sneak peek into the development of her next work, The Tunnel Play. After-party immediately following the performance.
Peter Holsapple & Chris Stamey to Play The Bell House, 12/6

Peter Holsapple and Chris Stamey will perform perhaps their most beloved record, 1991's Mavericks, in its entirety, on Dec. 6, at Brooklyn's the Bell House. Although the pair's records with the dB's have found almost universal critical acclaim, it is Mavericks - with its Everly Brothers-style harmonies and more acoustic-based timbres - that often tops fans' playlists. Songs such as 'Angels,' 'I Know You Will,' 'She Was the One,' 'Geometry,' and 'The Child in You' have become perennial favorites. Joining Peter and Chris on this special night will be guitarist Dave Schramm, who played on the original album and subsequent tour, as well as an ace rhythm section and special guests.
