Tina Packer, Dennis Krausnick, Jayne Atkinson, Michel Gill & Chris Tucci Take Part in LINCOLN SPEAKS at Chesterwood

Art and history, as vividly recalled in both the public oratory and private thoughts of Abraham Lincoln, will come alive at Chesterwood on Wednesday, Aug. 9 at 5 p.m., with the return of 'Lincoln Speaks,' a program of dramatic readings held in Daniel Chester French's Stockbridge studio alongside the sculptor's six-foot-high plaster model of the seated figure of "Abraham Lincoln" for the Lincoln Memorial, arguably the most famous and compelling Lincoln image in the world. The "Lincoln Speaks" program debuted to a sold-out house at Chesterwood last summer.

Williamstown Theatre Festival to Host WAM Theatre Fresh Takes Reading of SMART PEOPLE

On Today, August 1 at 5 pm, the Williamstown Theatre Festival will host a WAM Theatre Fresh Takes Play Reading of Smart People by Lydia R. Diamond at the Clark Art Institute.  The reading will be directed by WAM's Artistic Director, Kristen van Ginhoven. Tickets are free but reservations are recommended.

Tickets are now on sale for Cape Cod Chamber Music Festival (CCCMF)'s 38th season as Cape Cod's premiere presenter of summer chamber music. Twelve compelling concerts will be performed at venues across the Cape from August 1 through 25. Early purchases are recommended for discount tickets (available through June 30) and packages, limited to capacity.
ImprovBoston presents A 35-Hour Comedy Marathon to Celebrate its 35th Anniversary

ImprovBoston welcomes back 35 years worth of alumni for a historic 35-Hour Comedy Marathon on August 5 & 6. A fundraiser for the New England comedy staple, the event features more than 90 laugh-out-loud comedy acts including sketch, standup, character work, improv, musical improv, late-night bit shows, and more. All proceeds from the event will benefit the nonprofit theater's facility upgrades, scheduled for the week of August 7th.

New Century Theatre just opened HOLD THESE TRUTHS by Jeanne Sakata, the acclaimed one-man show that tells the miraculous story of Gordon Hirabayashi, one of a handful of Japanese Americans who resisted the order to relocate and was sent to jail. His case ultimately landed in the supreme court.
