The Public has canceled today's rehearsals for HAMLET, slated to begin previews outdoors at the Delacorte tomorrow. "The Public is closely monitoring the air quality situation and taking appropriate actions to ensure the health and safety of its staff, artists, and audiences. Tomorrow’s first performance will be determined as the situation evolves."
It's supposed to be just as bad tomorrow with it not easing up until late Thursday evening. Where I work, we started getting some of the smoke inside of our building. Had to wear a mask outside for the first time in 2 years and now I'll likely wear one at work all day. Was hard to see people actually working outside today on my way home.
A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

It was weird to put a mask back on but man my eyes were really being affected.
Yeah, it's brutal out there today. Wondering how some musicals fared for the matinee and are planning to go into tonight. I wouldn't blame anyone with asthma or afraid of damaging their voice for calling out tonight.
I live in Reading, PA and it's REALLY bad here as well. I had to go out earlier today and it felt weird wearing a mask for the first time in over a year but it smelled like wood was burning all around me. Please be safe everyone! I hope Jodie Comer is alright.
The idea is to work and to experiment. Some things will be creatively successful, some things will succeed at the box office, and some things will only - which is the biggest only - teach you things that see the future. And they're probably as valuable as any of your successes. -Harold Prince
As somebody who lives in an area where this now is a yearly occurrence in my experience usually the terrible smoke sticks around for 3-4 days and then starts to ease. The worst we have had here is over a week but the only thing that seemed to change was people did less outside activities. Here’s hoping the winds change and push the smoke

I appreciate your optimism, but is it based on facts of any kind?
From what I've gleamed, this will be around for a few days. I predict the Tony's will continue but maybe not any outdoor press coverage (but that is just speculation).
Yes, it's according to science, meteorologists that have reported on this, and how winds/jet streams work. If no shows canceled this afternoon (which was the very worst of it), then nothing will be affected once it's cleared.
I’m flying out to London from JFK on Saturday morning. Hopefully this will be clear by then!

Reports say this should start to ease up Thursday evening. There's a 50% chance of rain Thursday and Friday afternoon, too, that would help the situation. The entire Northeast is very dry right now.

Thanks! Hopefully that will be the case!

I just read from a public health expert that cloth masks won't help today and if you're wearing a KN/KF/N95 mask you can't reuse them - you need to discard them. Stay safe everyone!
I was at the & Juliet matinee. I could smell the smoke from the mezzanine before the show started. It seems like it got better once the doors were closed. Nicholas Edwards was replaced at intermission. No idea if it was because of the air or another reason.
