It seems like most of the musicals on Broadway have made an indication of returning. But nothing but crickets from WEST SIDE STORY at the Broadway. Anybody know anything?
Maybe, with Spielberg’s movie coming out on December 10th, they’re thinking their “window” has closed...but then, CHICAGO had no problem weathering the film release.
I would take no news as good news. It's not as if shows are opening next week, or even next month, that it's time to worry about radio silence - they just have nothing to report.
Additionally, every announcement made now can easily reverse by the time shows do start opening.
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?
These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

Exactly. Even though it is not a popular mindset here, the reopening process has to be viewed through a long lens. We will crawl, then walk, before we run. If they are thinking Fall '22 to reopen it, they have nothing to report now. (I have no opinion on the whether part.)
I asked my agent friend that represents top musical theater talent and he said: I have no idea about that show and haven't heard anything as of yet on future plans of opening for WSS. Jagged and Ain't Too Proud discussions are happening!

Have we really heard plans on any shows? I mean aside from the plays, there are dozens of continuing shows expected to return, but we've not heard much on those. It's not like the show came in with any real publicity in the first place aside from a 60 Minutes piece. (And the bad press from its casting didn't ding it at all.) It's a brand name and that'll do as well as it did the first time this production opened.

It's coming back -- complete with zones for 2 separate groups of picketers. Some people in this chat (or maybe just the one?) will be so confused about which group to join!
