This is my number one question too! You'd think we would hear a yes or no by now. How is this the only show still not accounted for??

Both West Side Story and Hangmen have received SVOG funding, with West Side Story getting the full $10m and Hangmen getting $3.5m. Producers for WSS have said a return-announcement will be coming "imminently", whereas Hangmen producers made no such comments as to whether or not the show would be returning.

Is This a Room starting September 24 and opening October 11 and Dana H. starting October 1 and opening October 17, both playing in rep at the Lyceum Theatre.

I'm listing them under new play, though not sure if they'll qualify for play awards since the former is a transcript and the latter is essentially lipsyncing, though considering the length/format of the run I'm not sure if they'll even try to be eligible for awards (has any other show been done in rep on broadway before?)

I just wrote about this in the other thread, but to re-iterate: Under the current rules, I expect them to be eligible as plays, but I think it's another examples of why there should be separate categories for "Best Script" and "Best Production of a Play" so you don't end up with an awkward situation where a playwright wins for a piece of verbatim theatre.

"(has any other show been done in rep on broadway before?)"

Yes, it's been done many, many times over the decades. Most recently with Mark Rylance's Twelfth Night / Richard III, and not long before that there was the Waiting For Godot / No Man's Land with McKellen and Stewart (there might have even been a more recent example that I'm forgetting). In those cases, both shows are separately eligible for the Tonys in their respective categories.

Any word on Sing Street? If not the Lyceum (which it loaded out of), perhaps the Cort once renovations are complete? The Golden next spring?

West Side Story is officially not opening and Funny Girl is supposedly coming to Broadway in April, though I'm still waiting on further confirmation on that.

For open theaters, I believe we still have the Broadway, Marquis, Booth (starting January), and the Hudson (through January). And we're still waiting on Sing Street, Romeo and Bernadette, Ain't Supposed to Die a Natural Death (one article mentioned it would be going to the Golden but seemed unsubstantiated, though it's possible that it's coming in next season instead), and now Funny Girl.

EDIT: The August Wilson is also open after Pass Over ends its run October 10

Depending on the "names" it gets, I can see FUNNY GIRL going to the Broadway.

A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

The Broadway theater has 1761 seats. With the current rumored cast? That will never happen.

Hoping “Almost Famous” finds a home before the To y cutoff. The Broadway is likely too big, but there must be a suitable midsize house.

Doubt it. I'd say the August Wilson or Bernard B Jacobs, depending on when Company is set to close?

I thought I heard the Nederlander. It will be vacant come early January, so perfect timing for a spring opening.

Oh look, a bibu!

Do we have any idea if the Nanny or the Devil Wears Prada will be debuting during the 2021-2022 season? I wonder where they would be.

Devil Wears Prada is doing an out-of-town production in Chicago in July 2022, so it will not be coming to Broadway until the 2022/2023 season...I'd expect that's the same for The Nanny, as well as The Notebook.

Thanks for letting me know! I'd imagined The Devil Wears Prada would arrive Fall 2022 and the Nanny and the Notebook in 2023.

While there has not been an update in a while, Some Like It Hot planned on transferring in during 2022 (maybe spring, but could be fall) season. I assume this could go in the Marquis, just like 9 to 5 (which Bob Greenblatt also produced and housed in that theatre), if not Once Upon A One More Time.

"Some Like It Hot, based on MGM’s 1959 Billy Wilder comedy film starring Tony Curtis, Jack Lemmon and Marilyn Monroe, is targeted to begin performances on Broadway in 2022."

Since the Shuberts are producing Some Like It Hot, I would assume they'll play a Shubert house?  Maybe the Shubert itself after TKAM closes?  Or the Imperial after Ain't Too Proud?

I wouldn’t rule out other houses… the Shuberts are also producing The Lehman Trilogy, which is playing at the Nederlander.

True -- the big difference being that on SLIH they are listed first as the lead producer (along with Neil Meron) -- while on Lehman they are at the end of a very long list of co-producers.

All rumors at this point obviously, but heard from server also credible sources that Funny Girl will be going into the Wilson this Spring and Beetlejuice will be making a return limited engagement at the Marquis (Once Upon A One More Time was pushed to next season and aiming for Fall 2022).

Have heard absolutely nothing on Sing Street which worries me, I hope it’s still on. I love the movie and while the show at NYTW wasn’t perfect it had a lot of potential and I was excited to see the updates for Broadway.

The Wilson feels like a perfect size for FUNNY GIRL. Hope the Twitter rumors of an expanded orchestration from the London production are true. (Some of the new arrangements were questionable, too...)

Agreed on Sing Street. I'm hoping for the best, but it doesn't look promising.
