They told me no refunds yet due to Music Man not opening until September 6th. I responded back regardless because my mother simply does not feel comfortable especially due to underlying health conditions and does not even want to go if corona were to be washed away tomorrow probably. We'll see what happens with the next response. Knock on wood, not hard up for money or anything, just figure get this refund now instead of later

Should we expect an announcement soon as to the rescheduled dates for The Music Man?

Maybe that development partly explains why ticket refund requests are favorably considered for those who request them?

For those who have gotten a refund, what did you give as the reason?  Did you just say you didn't want to go because of the pandemic?  And did you get your Telecharge fees back as well?

"What was the name of that cheese that I like?" "you can't run away forever...but there's nothing wrong with getting a good head start" "well I hope and I pray, that maybe someday, you'll walk in the room with my heart"

On the one hand, I could see Scott Rudin at least delaying the production, especially given that director Jerry Zaks was in the middle of previews for Mrs. Doubtfire before the shutdown began. On the other hand, actor, playwright, director, theatre critic, and historian Ron Fassler did give me the notion on a podcast last month of “What if The Music Man doesn’t open?”.

Anything is possible given the uncertainty of the reopening of Broadway. Broadway is commercial business and it is not likely  that producers would want to re-start existing shows or start new shows without assurance of longterm profitability.

Or on a more optimistic note - why not let the cast or creatives work on  other career opportunities while the productions are on hold?

@mikem. I didn’t provide a reason. I just requested that my order be refunded. It took two days. Very quick.

@mikem, I did say due to the coronavirus, I wasn’t able to attend. I sent separate emails for ‘Music Man’ and ‘Company’. Telecharge emailed back about ‘Company’ on the same day with a refund, no questions asked. ‘The Music Man’ took a couple of days because I had given them the wrong order number (I bought my ticket the minute they went on sale when they were only showing limited available seats, but when they released better seats for the same price later that day, I complained to Telecharge and asked them to swap my tickets for a better seat, so they cancelled my original order and gave me a new order number...which I forgot about and so I mistakenly gave them the original order number when I asked for a refund). Even with all that, they gave me a refund, no hassles. Good luck with your request. Also, it looks like they refunded the ticket cost and all service charges.

I must say that dealing with Telecharge throughout the years has always been great. They have always been very helpful and have been accommodating to my requests for seat changes or date changes.

Normally, you would need some kind of reason but the reason currently is "It's 2020".

I bought my tickets at the box office and was told by Telecharge it has to be the box office that refunds the tickets when they reopen. Anyone else having that same issue?

I believe that's always the case.

Telecharge has stopped selling tickets for the show.

Aw, man. Sounds like an announcement is imminent. With so many variables up in the air (Jackman’s “Ferrari” movie directed by Michael Mann that it was just announced he’ll be shooting next year, at least one if not two more seasons of “Younger” that Sutton is already behind on filming, no definite return date for Broadway, no guarantee of a vaccine, and no word on when tourists and older theater goers will be comfortable on returning to Broadway even when those things occur), my money is on basically a full cancellation... with a “We hope to remount the production down the road if and when circumstances permit.”

But don’t forget too that Scott Rudin was pretty much the first to announce a cancellation of an entire Broadway run when he closed “Virginia Woolf” due to Laurie Metcalf’s conflcits (presumably he wouldn’t have been able to file an insurance claim if he presented it as merely a postponement) - so if I were a betting man I’d predict that he frames it as basically scrapping the run, and that if it happens at all it wouldn’t be until they recover some of their losses, the two leads honor their other TV and film commitments, Broadway is back at full force, and they tried to regroup for it and basically start from scratch sometime in 2022 or so. We’ll see.

I purchased my ticket through Broadway.com for January. I reached out for a refund and it was denied. Just adding my experience to the thread. I pushed back as that’s what I had to do with Today Tix a la “knock twice and you’ll get in” and they were firm in not refunding.

I still don’t know why anyone purchases from Broadway.com - That being said, it sounds like an announcement will be coming any day from either The Music Man production or from the Broadway League officially announcing cancellations of all productions for the rest of the year. If you haven’t heard again from Broadway.con within 24 hours of such an announcement, I’d say you’ll have more than enough grounds by then (if you don’t already, which I think you do, based on just what’s in this thread) to dispute the charge and launch an investigation with your credit card company. Broadway unfortunately isn’t coming back anytime soon, so at this point (and with the show in question even suspending ticket sales itself), no one has the right to hold your money hostage until whenever it does.

He changes his profile photo often. The new one seems to come from an old set a few weeks ago.

In regards to the upcoming Ferrari biopic set to film in the spring, Hugh is also in talks to star in The Good Spy, as well as being linked to ate least two in-development films (The Odyssey and Apostle Paul).

Er... the IMDB Pages are not always reliable. The supposed director for GOOD SPY ( Kormakur) is busy with a TV series and a new movie.  The Odyssey has seemingly also been dropped by the proposed director and  the producing company. No word on Apostle Paul, which was supposed to be co-produced with Affleck and Damon. Sometimes the names are attached to a project to elicit funding offers or film rights distribution. Hugh's name was attached when the film project Collateral Beauty was offered at the Cannes film market -  and the script drew a record price. But it ended up  with Will Smith in the lead.

He seems to have been attached to the FERRARI film since around 2017 but it did not attract attention till now. Hopefully the Cannes film presentation by Michael Mann will assure film distribution of the movie?  There is mention of AMAZON as a project sponsor but I am not sure in what capacity.

He personally confirmed around the early part of the lockdown that he is committed to The Music Man for a year's run and that he has freed himself entirely for the Broadway project.  There has been no official announcement  on the fate of the revival.  I asume that he only started talking to Michael Mann or he might have been approached anew when the Broadway situation became murkier. The last time he was interviewed he did say that there might be a delay...but maybe at that time things have not been as clear on the Broadway situation ( that it could actually go on a long hiatus). In that interview (92Y with Prof Innsdorf), he mentioned that he was talking earlier to his longtime agent ( Patrick Whitesell) so it could be that there were already some alternative projects being considered?

As much as I would love to see Jackman in The Music Man- I bet that it will not happen. BWAY might not reopen for another year. I have tickets for April, 2021- but if there is no vaccine approved and widely used by then, a big BWAY production is not gonna happen- and tourists are not flocking tot he city to see it. I guess it will all depend on how much Jackman wants to do this. My guess is a movie is a lot safer and easier to do.

I have seen Jackman on Broadway in all but the play at the CITS (Can't remember its name) and have seen his concert as well.  When he is performing in a musical, it is very obvious that he LOVES being with an audience and all that goes with that.  I would not rule out MM still happening, even if it has to be further juggled.  It really is a role that he is positively perfect for.

They could cast someone else and just make the tickets cheaper. I would not mind that in the slightest. It seems that this show was scheduled between huge projects of his, and rescheduling seems like a nightmare.

That play you were referring to is The River. And yes, I'm sure Jackman will be the perfect Harold Hill, even if it takes another few years to happen.

Oh look, a bibu!

STRANGE.

I originally had tickets for Saturday December 5th. Now mine are showing for July 3rd, 2021.
