I loved the stage show, and I loved this, including Corden. I thought it was a near-perfect adaptation, and all of the additions really worked for me. On stage, I thought the sentimentality bordered on cheesy in parts, but in this I was genuinely moved, and much of that came from Corden's performance. I was expecting some cringey moments, but they just weren't there, and I really can't think of a single complaint. I even liked Ryan Murphy's direction, which I usually find
That video for "If" from Diana was released last December. I liked it then, and I still like it. With the recent premiere of The Crown season 4, the timing couldn't be any better to promote the show.

You said with top billing alongside Meryl as if the draw of this movie was him on equal footing as her."
"Barry" is a lead role, so he shares top billing, whether you like it or not. With a star like Meryl Streep as his counterpart, it's clear that they wanted someone with a certain level of name recognition, and James Corden fit the&nb

Imagine thinking that James Corden is on the level of Meryl Streep. It's laughable honestly. The role didn't require someone on Meryl or even Nicole Kidman's level... because you already have both of them. And who else could play the role who has Hollywood experience other than Nathan Lane? Neil Patrick Harris (even though I don't really like him),
I'm curious: besides Nathan Lane, what other openly gay actors who can sing would be a good fit for the role, and be famous enough to basically share top billing with Meryl Streep? This isn't a snarky question, I just can't think of anyone else, and, frankly, I can't think of any other straight actors, either. Like him or not, a lot of people of all ages know who James Corden is, mainly because of his Carpool Karaoke clips on YouTube, which have over a

"How f*cking old do you think I am?" was one of the funniest lines in the show. Disappointed that they cleaned it up.

To be fair to the OP, "Hispanic/Latinx" is not a race, it's an ethnicity, and many identify as Caucasian, including, most likely, the 3 actresses that were mentioned. The reviews are very reminiscent of the stage show's, with some who hate it and find it totally misguided, but with more who love it or, at the very least, find it hard to resist.
ArtMan said: "People on here and other sources state that this is in theatres December 11. Yet, it starts this Thursday at my Cinemark. No AMC. Are some chains getting this, a week earlier?"
The theatrical run at select theaters begins this week, and not every chain will carry it.
Earlier today, someone posted a bootleg of "It's Not About Me" on here, which, of course, has since been deleted, and the line is there. It's "We are liberals from Broadway."
The quality of her voice has remained at the highest level for decades. When she sings her own songs, she still sounds exactly like she did when she first sang them, which is why I actually prefer it when she performs covers and songs from other musicals. I always love to see what her voice can do with them. This was one of my favorites from 54 Below and some of last year's concerts:
