I get that, but having it be a "best available" situation instead of being able to select from a seating chart is bound to cause aggravation later on. Having said that, I'm still assuming that it'll be the Winter Garden, when all is

He's not talking about the location of the theatre, but the location of the seats you're purchasing. Asking people to shell over hundreds of dollars without knowing where they're sitting IS a disaste
I'll be surprised if there isn't a $99 price point. In recent memory, I haven't seen a show whose lowest ticket price was over $100 at the time of the initial sale. Granted, this is a different animal, but I'm expecting there will be at least 1 row of "cheap" seats.
Sing Street's schedule is up on the NYTW website, and performances are currently scheduled from 11/25/19 - 1/12/20. Tickets go on sale to the general public on 10/4.
Yes, the show wants you to laugh. However, the movie, even with all of its campy Baz Luhrmann humor, also succeeded in making you feel something. On stage, it's all silliness and spectacle, without the heart that made the film wildly romantic, as well. I couldn't care less how much money it's making, or if Ben Brantley and Nicole Kidman loved it. In my opinion, the book and the 2 lead actors make the show a missed opportunity.

It looks like ALL the night shows move to 7:30 from 8pm after opening...not just Sunday

Where did it say that, can you link it. I heard the producer say that he didn’t want the winter garden because of the large size
