Anyone else a bit bothered that they made a HUGE fuss about Day 1 ticket sales for Dolly (Bette) ? I seem to recall just about every news piece around that time touting how much they had in the bank before previews even began. They were not ashamed to talk about the $$$.
Music Man? Crickets.
I'm just a bit surprised since I was one of those people shucking out big bucks for a front row seat. That's not my grievance however. I'm curious (as I
I saw the revival in the fall of 2002 ( my 2nd Bway show). Changed me. This was to me, the epitome of Broadway. 17 years later, I'm still loving the colors, scenic design, costumes, etc. But, without any NAMES leading this time, it certainly appears (like others have said), just a dusted off version.
Compromise? I remember when I returned to NYC in the spring of 2004, at the time Shirley Jones was in the role of Dorothy Brock and Patrick

Right? Right?? Lol
In all seriousness, I am so excited for this. Can’t wait to see it in 13 months!"
But also, even if doesn't end up at the Golden, I would hate to see a small-scale play like Virginia Woolf drownin the Neil Simon. It's way too big for that show.
I guess I'm just excited to see Eddie return to the stage. Plus Laurie? Plus a great play...
Does ."...Virginia Wolf" have a theatre? Not sure who presents them? I'm thinking Shuberts.
In any case, my dream scenario is that people wise up to the revival of WSS and it makes a transfer to (possible Neil Simon 1,467) or another theatre. Then, a show like The Music Man could move into it. Movie name like Hugh with Broadway and now TV face Sutton Foster - - I don't see any issues selling to a large venue like the Broadway Theatre (1,761) even after the holid
We just saw WICKED Saturday evening 8/17. KDM was in for Jake Boyd (much to our delight).
Got to see Jennifer/Jake while Hannah was out in July 3rd. Nancy was also out as Morrible July 3rd
Hannah was FANTASTIC. Reminded me a lot of Jackie Burns but with LOTS of her own choices. As she grows with this company, I think she'll find herself more and more comfortable with the role (as I assume ANY Elphie would)
