So our first meeting went well, very well, did coffee at a cafe at just chatted, about theatre, life, etc... Also sadly for you guys there will be no picture of him or us, it just seems a bit too much for a broadwayworld thread, I mean u guys don't go around posting pics of urself on here... (Hope you can respect that decision) So if u really wanna sneak a shot of him I guess Ull have to go to les Miz and buy some merch (which if business picks up I now want a cut of due to my publicity). But if things continue to develop I will do my best to keep you in the loop (or as much of the loop as you can be in...)
This thread is so sweet! And I'm so happy that it's all working out :). Yay!
“I regard the theatre as the greatest of all art forms, the most immediate way in which a human being can share with another the sense of what it is to be a human being.”
``oscar wilde``
It's not an odd request- people want to see if this guy is worth all the fuss being made about him or not- plain and simple.
Good lord what an invasion of privacy.
Words don't deserve that kind of malarkey. They're innocent, neutral, precise, standing for this, describing that, meaning the other, so if you look after them you can build bridges across incomprehension and chaos. But when they get their corners knocked off, they're no good anymore…I don't think writers are sacred, but words are. They deserve respect. If you get the right ones in the right order, you can nudge the world a little.
I see you're point and of course i meant with permission obviously. i am one of the users who does not maintain an anonymous identity on here- but that's me.
I have followed and contributed my thoughts here, but really, is this for real in this day and age? And as for all the 'auh shucks-ain't this sweet' !! Maybe age does make one[me] all bitter and twisted, but really, all this to go have a coffee with someone ? The need to make your 'coupling' so public seems more like a need for attention than advice with so many involved in getting the 2 of you together--a friend knows a friend who knows a friend of the merch.guy etc etc. Don't think we need a pic.of the merch.guy-let's see a pic.of the OP.
I think the fact that "all this" happened to have coffee with someone is exactly what makes it "sweet" lol. I think it's pretty cute.
"You can't overrate Bernadette Peters. She is such a genius. There's a moment in "Too Many Mornings" and Bernadette doing 'I wore green the last time' - It's a voice that is just already given up - it is so sorrowful. Tragic. You can see from that moment the show is going to be headed into such dark territory and it hinges on this tiny throwaway moment of the voice." - Ben Brantley (2022)
"Bernadette's whole, stunning performance [as Rose in Gypsy] galvanized the actors capable of letting loose with her. Bernadette's Rose did take its rightful place, but too late, and unseen by too many who should have seen it" Arthur Laurents (2009)
"Sondheim's own favorite star performances? [Bernadette] Peters in ''Sunday in the Park,'' Lansbury in ''Sweeney Todd'' and ''obviously, Ethel was thrilling in 'Gypsy.'' Nytimes, 2000
