"Noel [Coward] and I were in Paris once. Adjoining rooms, of course. One night, I felt mischievous, so I knocked on Noel's door, and he asked, 'Who is it?' I lowered my voice and said 'Hotel detective. Have you got a gentleman in your room?' He answered, 'Just a minute, I'll ask him.'" (Beatrice Lillie)

Same here. I didn't think they'd start stunt casting right away. I hope Patina extended, at least, through the spring. Wait until May until Scherzinger comes in.
A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.
Not a fan of her pop music work, but the few things I have seen her do pertaining to theatre (“Rent,” her performance of “Don’t Cry For Me Argentina”) has made me itch to see what else she can do. I think she could be great in this role and I hope this pans out.
Her reviews in Rent were overwhelmingly positive. So, she can sing, she can dance, and she can act. Seems like a legit fit for the role. Does that assure she'll be great in this role? No, but this is star casting rather than stunt casting.

I just don´t get why a star would want to be a replacement. Would have made more sense for her if she was the original leading player of this revival to be eligable for the tony.
I think she can sing, but I don't find anything appealing or personable about her. She was better as a Pussycat Doll, when she was an unofficial lead and nothing else.

NOOOOOOO! I have nothing against Scherzinger but Patina is not ready to leave Pippin. she is so good as the Leading Player and because she won the Tony I think she should stay in the show at least until July like Billy Porter in Kinky Boots.
Don'tcha wish that Pippin was hot like me Don'tcha wish that Pippin was a freak like me Don'tcha
