I wanted to see them in Vegas last year but the show was dark when I was there. I would definetly see them in NYC if I was there and plan to see them in Vegas next year if possible. I grew up with them.

I think I did an album called A Broadway Christmas - glad I could be of help :)

I love Donny and Marie - I guest-starred on four of their shows back in the 1970s - they were such sweet kids and their family was very good-hearted.

I use to make fun of them. Then my mom saw them in Vegas and she had so much fun and was in such a good mood that I warmed up to them a bit. Obviously they know how to entertain and please their fan base. They are entertainers, let them do it.

People can make fun, but these two are international icons. I bet they sell out every damn show. It's actually perfect entertainment for the holidays. With Spiderman and Donny & Marie Broadway is clearly poised to be the next Vegas.

I don't know about the rest of Europe, but they're well known in the UK. A little too cheesy for most (and mostly regarded as a byword for irritating 'wholesome family entertainment') but they have their fans...

They are not famous in Latin America, I'll tell you that. Maybe in the UK, but I doubt they are known elsewhere in Europe or anywhere else at all.

No offense, but it doesn't matter if they're known in Latin America or mainland Europe (although I know both have performed extensively in France and Germany - and they're also extremely popular in Asia where their 2008 tour sold out).

What matters is they're very popular here.

I saw them in Vegas, where they're the only show not discounting tickets and still selling out. It was terrific. I'm a fan, but even I was shocked at how accomplished they were and how professional a show it was. Singing, dancing, joking, chatting with the audience. It was truly top-notch.

I'd love to see this at the Marquis; hope I can get there.

(and for the record, for the one who mentioned it, Donny was opposed to Prop 8, and Marie is a strong supporter of gay rights. Prejudice and false assumptions work both ways.)

I actually like her quite a lot...she was excellent in "The King and I" and I think she's got a great sense of humor, but add Donny and the Christmas theme and I think I'll survive if I don't see it.

A while back, my mom brought me to Donny's concert for his "This Is The Moment" album (where he did nothing but Broadway songs) and I really didn't want to go. But, after it was over, I fell in love with his voice and quickly snatched up that album. Plus, he's the best Joseph, hands down!

They are at their core, two very talented entertainers who will deliver an audience their money's worth. They can be cheesy, but they have a lot of depth and vulnerability that people relate to. Both have been very transparent about their struggles and this endears them to people.

Marie is actually a fine actress and has a beautiful voice.

Oh and I hate to disagree with muscle, but they were an international phenomenon in the 70s and while their popularity may have waned in other countries over the years, they are still a well known and recognizable "brand" and icons to many all over the world.
