Bad Theater Behavior  Mar 1 2018, 10:52:18 AM

I saw Frozen last night and wild behavior from kids would have been expected, but the atrocious behavior I witnessed was from a middle aged woman. She sat directly in front of me and was told not once, but 6 times by ushers to stop taking pictures. She was even removed temporarily during act I to delete the photos. It continued during act II and when she wasn't taking photos, she was checking texts and facebook. When I asked her to please put it away because it was distracting me, she rep

Matthew Bourne's THE RED SHOES  Nov 1 2017, 10:12:40 AM

Is there a list somewhere of who who performs the lead roles in each show? I haven't seen one on their website, but I want to see Sara Mearns.

Drama Desk Awards performances?  May 30 2017, 12:34:21 PM

I'm also considering attending. Do most of the nominees attend? Also, what is the appropriate attire?

HELLO, DOLLY! Previews  Mar 16 2017, 09:17:18 AM

Were there any major technical glitches or stoppages last night? I usually hesitate to go early in previews for those reasons, but I'm looking to buy a resale ticket for tonight.

COME FROM AWAY Reviews  Mar 12 2017, 08:01:02 PM

Peter Marks is the best theatre critic writing today, in my opinion.

Dear Evan Hansen Standing Room  Mar 9 2017, 08:36:12 PM

I decided to wait it out last night with Stubhub. Prices started dropping around 6:45 for an 8:00 show. I finally purchased a single ticket around 7:40. It was originally marked at $250 on Stubhub and I paid $125 with fees. It was second row orchestra and the face value was $189. Stubhub is a decent option if you can be in midtown about an hour before curtain.

SUNSET BOULEVARD Previews  Feb 6 2017, 10:24:59 PM

I saw the Saturday night performances and it was my first real experience with the show. I can't help but think this piece must have inspired Ryan Murphy for AHS: Hotel. Lady Gaga's character reminds me so much of Norma and that eerie quality of the house as well. I would love to see Lady gaga play Norma Desmond in about 20 years.

Transport Group's Celebration of Mary-Mitchell Campbell  Feb 6 2017, 10:22:15 PM

I just came home from the benefit and I wanted to report back on the performances.

-Tituss Burgess: gospel song he sang with Mary in India on one of the ASTEP trips

-Debra Monk: Everybody's Girl

-Sierra Boggess: I Have Confidence

-Jon Groff and Kristin Chenoweth were unable to perform (they sent video messages)

-Raul Esparza & Melissa Errico: Move On

-Susan Blackwell was the auctioneer. The action items: $2,000 for an original song by Mary, $8

De Blasio hits awkward note with Broadway-style video  Dec 29 2016, 10:58:07 AM

EXACTLY!!  And that's just one more reason to despise Giuliani!  We'll take the hookers and porn palaces over the pedestrian plazas and Elmos and tourists moving at a glacial pace ANY day!

What does Patti think about this season?  Dec 15 2016, 08:23:47 PM

She discovered Laura Benanti so she's pissed that she decided to have a baby instead of treading the boards this season. She also discovered Manoel Felciano so she's mad that Darko kicked him out of Anastasia pre-Broadway.

Gypsy of the Year  Dec 5 2016, 11:36:42 PM

I was giddy when Donna McKechnie and Baayork came on stage for Turkey Lurkey. I also loved the piece that Wicked performed with Sheryl Lee Ralph. Seth was entertaining and I particularly enjoyed the Evita references. The Jersey Boys mega cast was very entertaining and a fitting end to their run. I also liked what Fiddler was trying to do. The "where are they now" was an interesting concept, but it got a little muddled at the end. Also, what on earth was Paramour doing? Does anyone know what h

Kristin Chenoweth's MY LOVE LETTER TO BROADWAY Thread  Nov 3 2016, 11:29:58 AM

They had CDs for $30, mugs for $20, magnets for $10 and Christmas Ornaments. They also had short-sleeved T shirts in pink and black, long sleeved T shirts in black, and hoodies.

Kristin Chenoweth's MY LOVE LETTER TO BROADWAY Thread  Nov 3 2016, 10:04:12 AM

The Always On My Mind/Losing My Mind medley was probably my favorite moment of the show. It was interesting because it essentially told both sides of the story in a broken relationship: the one who was at fault and the one who was abandoned. The arrangement was so seamless you could've convinced me it was written that way if I didn't already know the songs.
