Broadway's biggest night is just around the bend! Before we officially celebrate the Tony Awards, the nominees gathered last night to salute the 2019 Tony Honorees, which this year include: Lifetime Achievement in the Theatre: Rosemary Harris, Terrence McNally, Harold Wheeler; Special Tony Awards: Marin Mazzie, Sonny Tilders and Creature Technology Company, Jason Michael Webb; Regional Theatre Tony Award: TheatreWorks Silicon Valley Palo Alto, CA; Isabelle Stevenson Tony Award: Judith Light; Tony Honors for Excellence in the Theatre: Broadway Inspirational Voices - Michael McElroy, Peter Entin, FDNY Engine 54, Ladder 4, Battalion 9, Joseph Blakely Forbes.

The Prom's Brooks Ashmanskas was honored with a portrait at the iconic Sardi's yesterday, May 28.

Last night, Signature Theatre celebrated the one-millionth subsidized ticket sold under the 'Signature Ticket Initiative: A Generation of Access.' This is a massive milestone for this almost 15-year old initiative which provides tickets at accessible prices. A special reception was held in the lobby at the Signature Center on Wednesday, May 22nd.

Last night, cast members from King Kong, as well as Kong himself, received a 2019 Special Achievement Outer Critic Circle Award for their thrilling work on the production.

Today in Times Square, famed Q104 classic rock radio host Jim Kerr climbed out onto the marquee of Hard Rock Cafe to announce that the five-time Tony Award-nominated musical ROCK OF AGES will return to the New York stage this summer in a special 10th Anniversary Production at New World Stages (340 W 50th St). To mark the announcement, and the milestone anniversary, he was joined by alumni from throughout the musical's Broadway run, who performed 'Don't Stop Believin' live above Times Square. The return production of the musical - produced by Michael Cohl/S2BN Entertainment in association with Barry Habib, Scott Prisand/Seth Fass, Tony Smith, and Randi Zuckerberg/Mara Burros-Sandler - begins performances on Wednesday, June 19, 2019, for a 16-week limited engagement through Sunday, September 29, 2019. Ryan Murphy hosted a special performance of The Prom last night! At the show, he also announced that he will be developing the musical into a movie, as BroadwayWorld previously reported.

Just yesterday, Alex Brightman launched 'It's (Game) Showtime,' a live game show hosted by members of the BEETLEJUICE cast every Tuesday during preview performances outside the Winter Garden Theatre Box Office. 'It's (Game) Showtime!' is part of BEETLEJUICE's weekly lottery that opens at 5pm, and at 5:30pm, two lucky lottery entrants will be chosen to compete in 'It's (Game) Showtime!', a trivia game based on all things BEETLEJUICE. The winner gets a pair of tickets to that evening's performance of BEETLEJUICE on Broadway, and the runner-up has the chance to purchase two specially priced $33.33 tickets for the performance.
