Claire van der Boom Joins Signature's HEARTLESS Beginning 9/18September 14, 2012Signature Theatre (James Houghton, Founding Artistic Director; Erika Mallin, Executive Director) welcomes Claire van der Boom (HBO's "The Pacific" & CBS' "Hawaii Five-0") to the cast of Sam Shepard's HEARTLESS, directed by Daniel Aukin. Claire van der Boom will play the role of 'Sally', replacing Julianne Nicholson whose prior commitments prevent her from performing during the two week extension through Sunday, September 30. Marin Mazzie, Santino Fontana and More Set for Westport Country Playhouse's Gala Honoring Terrence McNally, 9/24September 13, 2012Westport Country Playhouse's one-night-only fundraising gala, "The Full McNally: A Celebration of the Writing and Works of Terrence McNally," will take place Monday evening, September 24. McNally is the winner of Tony Awards for his plays "Love! Valour! Compassion!" and "Master Class," and his books for the musicals "Ragtime" and "Kiss of the Spiderwoman." His other works include "The Full Monty," and "Lips Together, Teeth Apart," which was produced at Westport Country Playhouse in 2011.

BSO Partners with Parsons The New School for Design to Create Fashions for Modern OrchestrasSeptember 13, 2012Baltimore Symphony Orchestra (BSO) and BSO Music Director Marin Alsop are passionate about breaking down barriers that separate orchestras from their audiences. In keeping with that vision, Maestra Alsop has funded a pilot partnership with Parsons The New School for Design to create new interactions between the orchestra and its audience through a re-imagining of traditional concert dress. This semester-long collaborative studio will investigate new fashions and wearable technologies that emphasize a networked world of musicians, audiences, the music being performed and the concert hall facility.
