The Boiler Room Theatre (BRT), Williamson County's original and longest running professional theatre company, continues its quest to bring fresh and innovative entertainment to middle Tennessee with its presentation of THE BOILER ROOM PRESSURE COOKER Round 2. Over three evening's: Thursday September 20th, Friday September 21st, and Saturday September 22nd. Three musicals over the course of three evenings will be presented and rated by the audience and by a panel of media and industry professionals. Immediately following the reading, there will be a ten minute talk back session where judges can give ideas and ask questions of the author and composer. The musical with the highest rating will receive a full production at the Boiler Room Theatre in the Lucky 13 Season. Show dates will be March 21-23, 2013.

The 2012 Island Shakespeare Festival presentation of A Midsummer Night's Dream broke previous attendance records and brought visitors to Island Shakespeare from around the country, and around the world, it was reported today.

Oh, the places you'll go when Seussical turns Imagination Stage into a world where "Anything is possible!" Seussical is a fantastical, magical, musical extravaganza written by Tony winners Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty, who also wrote the hits Ragtime and Once On This Island. The two have lovingly brought to life all of the favorite Dr. Seuss characters from a host of the author's most popular books.

From London's acclaimed Oily Cart, creators of innovative, multi-sensory and interactive productions for the very young, comes the U.S. premiere of RING A DING DING, an imaginative and energetic work of participatory theater for children ages 3 to 5 years old. RING A DING DING, presented by The New Victory Theater, will perform in Studio 3A/B at the New 42nd Street Studios, 229 West 42nd Street from October 17 through November 11.

Opera Columbus and Shadowbox Live have collaborated to create Opera Cabaret, an innovative, new program designed to take opera out of a traditional theatre setting and transform it into an immersive, interactive, and highly accessible experience in a casual environment. Opera Cabaret is designed to appeal to audiences aged 21-40, and provide an introduction to opera for those who have no experience with the art form or who may not be inclined to attend a traditional opera performance in a theatre.

Tribeca Film has acquired U.S. rights to Bert Marcus Productions' How to Make Money Selling Drugs, which had its world premiere on Friday night at the Toronto International Film Festival. The provocative documentary offers an in-depth look at the high-stakes world of drug dealing and drug enforcement by blending authentic reportage with pop culture references. Directed by Matthew Cooke, the film reunites producers Bert Marcus of Bert Marcus Productions and Adrian Grenier (HBO's Entourage), the team that created the breakout hit Teenage Paparazzo.

Horse Trade Theater Group will present a one night only encore performance of Spookfish Theatre Company's Dream Up Festival hit, Pornography for the People, written by Ming Peiffer (Relax! Alice). The Tony nominated actor Craig Bierko (THE MUSIC MAN) has joined the cast of AdA (Author directing Author) -- an evening comprised of new one act plays by American playwright Neil LaBute and Italian playwright Marco Calvani, in which each playwright will direct the other's work -- to be presented by La MaMa at the Ellen Stewart Theatre (66 E. 4 St.) in Manhattan, with preview performances starting September 28 prior to an official press opening Sunday, September 30. Both plays are receiving their American premieres and will be performed on the same program at every performance of AdA.

The Junior Society of Ballet Hispanico, the nation's premier Latino dance organization, will host its annual Junior Society Benefit, Dance Into Fashion, at The Jane Ballroom on Thursday, October 18, 2012 at 8pm.
