The Shakespeare Theatre Company (STC) has announced that actor F. Murray Abraham, who will receive The William Shakespeare Award for Classical Acting ("Will Award") at next month's Harman Center for the Arts Annual Gala, will join Artistic Director Michael Kahn for the first installment of the Classic Conversations series to be held at Sidney Harman Hall (610 F St. NW) onTuesday, October 16, 2012, at 7:30 p.m.

Classic Conversations with Michael Kahn will provide an exclusive experience for attendees as STC's Artistic Director interviews an exciting array of guest actors. This event comprises a series of discussions with classically-trained actors originally presented as part of the Company's 25th Anniversary Season. The 2012-2013 Season, a season of dreams, heroism versus treachery and a wintery tale, will explore a captivating and diverse array of classics including great works from Shakespeare and O'Neill, as well as a repertory at Sidney Harman Hall.

"I'm so pleased to be able to continue the Classic Conversation series in our new season," Kahn said. "I've enjoyed talking with some very talented actors working in the theatre and look forward to welcoming more guests to the Sidney Harman Hall stage. Our patrons have also had a great time with the series and it's wonderful we can continue to offer them this unique experience."

Audiences are invited to join Kahn for an evening of in-depth discussions on classical theatre and the craft of acting. Kahn, known not only for his rigorous and ingenious presentation of classical works but also for his signature charm and wit, welcomes these distinguished actors to STC for a chance to analyze and discuss the importance of classical theatre in today's society. This event will provide patrons with a look into some of the great minds of classical theatre.
