Melbourne Comedy's Rising Stars Returning Next Month

In March and May, local comedian Michael Shafar (Footy Couch, 3 Little Gigs, 3 Course Comedy, Round Squares) put together two comedy bills that went absolutely ballistic, selling out both shows well before the comics took to the stage. He is proud to be returning with a new line-up of Melbourne's finest comedians on the 22nd of August.

The secret to the show's success lies in its curation. Melbourne Comedy's Rising Stars is dedicated to introducing comedians who are on their way up. These are comics who have performed all over the country and sold out shows at the 2015 Melbourne International Comedy Festival.

With Shafar at the helm, the line-up will feature performances from Sam Taunton, Tim Hewitt, Rohan Ganju, Danielle Walker, Jess Perkins, Jay Morrissey, David Rose and Sonia Di Iorio.

These young comics have written for Cracked.com, appeared on Channel 31's Live on Bowen and About Tonight, presented for Channel [V], performed on ABC's Comedy Up Late and been RAW Comedy national finalists. For one night only, the future of Melbourne comedy will all be performing on one stage. Bookings are highly recommended.
