TXST School of Theatre, Dance, and Film Sets Sail with Robert Louis Stevenson’s Treasure Island San Marcos, TX – Texas State University's School of Theatre, Dance, and Film (SoTDF) presents Robert Louis Stevenson’s classic Treasure Island, running February 10-15, 2026, in the Patti Strickel Harrison Theatre. The SoTDF invites audiences to embark on an unforgettable voyage through Bryony Lavery’s adaptation of Robert Louis Stevenson's Treasure Island. Directed by Andy Park, this production bursts with imagination, magic, and swashbuckling danger, transforming this classic novel into a family-fun production for all ages! On a stormy night at the edge of the world, Jim Hawkins’ quiet life is disrupted by the arrival of a mysterious pirate and treasure map. Swept aboard the Hispaniola with an unlikely crew, Jim is drawn into a world of shifting loyalties, hidden motives, and perilous adventure. As mutiny brews and secrets surface, she must decide who to trust and what treasure truly means. This nautical tale features Jordan Rockhill (Jim Hawkins), Rem Remy (Doctor Livesey), Drew Dunson (Squire Trelawney), Cadence Dodd (Red Ruth), Jack Peznola (Lucky Mickey), Ron Ulen (Ghost of Captain Flint), Miguel Gaytan (Black Dog), Andrew Morataya (Captain Smollett), and Jordan Spena (Long John Silver), Elise Ray (Joan the Goat), Natoz Walker (Isreal Hands), Faraz Mobli (Dick the Dandy), Christian Nathaniel (Killigrew the Kind), Mick Preuit (Grey), Jay Brown (Parrot), Sonny Young (Ben Gunn/Blind Pew), Cooper Clarke (Boson) and the on-stage talent of two faculty members Linda Nenno Briening (Grandma Hawkins) and Neil Patrick Stewart (Bill Bones). Treasure Island showcases the creativity and technical skill of SoTDF’s faculty and student designers, technicians, performers, and faculty, offering a high-energy theatrical experience that balances swashbuckling excitement with moments of humor, heart, and suspense. The creative team includes Max Estudillo, scenic designer; Nina Haurani, costume designer; Matt Web, lighting designer; Catherine Kenner, sound designer; Colin Shay, technical director; and Marwa Habibi, production stage manager. Whether you’re rediscovering the story or encountering it for the first time, Treasure Island promises an evening of adventure, spectacle, and theatrical magic.
