Atlanta Lyric Theatre Announces 2011-12 Season Auditions

Atlanta Lyric Theatre, the metro area's only local professional musical theatre company, is holding an open casting call for its 2011-2012 Season of Musicals Friday, May 6 (6:00 PM - 10:00 PM), Saturday, May 7 (10:00 AM - 5:00 PM), and Sunday, May 8 (10:00 AM - 5:00 PM) at the Murray Arts Center, 2250 Stilesboro Road, Kennesaw, GA 30152.
Signups for audition slots begin in the lobby one hour prior to the start of the auditions. NO PHONE CALLS PLEASE. Callback auditions will be held the following weekend by invitation only. Contracts will be offered for the entire season at the callback auditions.Seeking performers for:THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE (Rehearsals begin August 21, 2011; Performs September 16 - October 2, 2011)THE SOUND OF MUSIC (Rehearsals begin November 6, 2011; Performs December 2-18, 2011)
AIN'T MISBEHAVIN' (Rehearsals begin January 22, 2012; Performs February 17 - March 4, 2012)
THE LIGHT IN THE PIAZZA (Rehearsals being March 25, 2012; Performs April 20 - May 6, 2012)
GYPSY (Rehearsals begin May 20, 2012; Performs June 15 - July 1, 2012)All roles are available. Performers must be 16 years of age or older to audition (8 years of age or older for THE SOUND OF MUSIC). All roles paid except for children under the age of 16. Actors' Equity performers will appear on a Guest Artist contract. All Atlanta Lyric Theatre performances are at the Earl Smith Strand Theatre on the Marietta Square and rehearsals are held at The Murray Arts Center. Please prepare 16 bars from any standard musical theatre piece. An accompanist will be provided. Be prepared to attend a dance call after the vocal auditions. All interested in THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE should bring tap shoes. All auditioners must attend the vocal audition first.
