About the Greater Miami Valley myVeteran Community

In 2015, the Secretary of Veterans Affairs approached the Dayton VA Medical Center Director and asked the Greater Miami Valley region to be one of the first 50 regions in the country to establish a myVeteran Community. Currently, the Greater Miami Valley myVeteran Community is made up of approximately 100 non-profits, for-profits, and State and Federal government agencies all working together to improve services for Veterans. From this initiative came many programs which focused on our veterans such as the 3rd Annual Vets Moving Forward Resources and Job Fair. The Greater Miami Valley myVeteran Community is preparing to be the first in the country to launch VetsLink 24/7 call-in line as well as the initiation of the Alzheimer's Military Task Force, which connects active military and veterans with the resources surrounding Alzheimer's and dementia development.
