SLUMDOG Director Danny Boyle To Take On FRANKENSTEIN At The National

Oscar-winning director Danny Boyle is to make his National Theatre debut, as he plans to helm a new production of Frankenstein.

The Slumdog Millionaire director will tackle Nick Dear's play as part of the winter season.

Earlier in his career, Boyle directed plays for The Royal Court Theatre and the Royal Shakespeare Company.

Highlights include MariAnne Elliott's production of Women Beware Women, Moira Buffini's new play Welcome to Thebes and Danton's Death directed by Michael Grandage.

Rory Kinnear will take on the title role in Sir Nicholas's production of Shakespeare's Hamlet, with Clare Higgins as Gertrude.

Sir Peter Hall will direct Shakespeare's Twelfth Night, with Rebecca Hall as Viola, in a production in the Cottesloe Theatre to celebrate the RSC founder's 80th birthday.
