REVOLUTION Is The Conservative Nightmare We've Been Waiting For

REVOLUTION is a genre-bending exploration of a Fox News nightmare. With an enduring legacy of violence, injustice, and white supremacy, what happens when Black people just can't take it anymore? Told through a series of snapshot-like moments along the course of the revolution, audiences follow the fight for Black liberation in America through eyes of would-be revolutionaries and the surprising personalities they encounter in the fight.

Developed during Black Revolutionary Theatre Workshop's inaugural commission series, REVOLUTION has toured colleges in the Northeast before its NYC premiere at HERE Arts Center in 2017. Now with a partner piece, AFTER SWARM, that takes a deeper dive into the political radicals behind the revolution and its aftermath, don't miss the full season of revolutionary theater through February, 2019.

Performances of REVOLUTION will be at JACK (505 1/2 Waverly Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11238) from Thursday, November 8- Saturday, November 10 at 8:00 pm and Sunday, November 11 at 3:00 pm.

Black Revolutionary Theatre Workshop (BRTW) is a Brooklyn-based ensemble that develops original works focused on the Black community in response to current events and trends. Founded in 2015 by Kevin Green and Heather Harvey in response to the massacre at Mother Emanuel AME. This performance of REVOLUTION features Cassagnol Leonidas and BRTW members Mieko Gavia, Kevin Green, and Heather Harvey. It is directed by Phaedra Michelle Scott and stage managed by Chanel Byas.
