NHTP Launches Masterclass Series With Shakespeare

New Hampshire Theatre Project launches its 2018/2019 Masterclass and Workshop series with a session focused on developing acting skills for classical work, Shakespeare Conservatory.

NHTP is delighted to be working for the first time with Michael Cobb, a past coach for the Shakespeare Theater, Guthrie Theater, and Denver Center Theater Company. This workshop is designed for both beginners and those more experienced in acting Shakespeare's work. It takes places on Saturday November 10th, 9.30am - 12.30pm at West End Studio Theatre. The workshop will introduce various conservatory-level acting exercises and coaching in embodying, clarifying, and activating Shakespeare verse materials based on the interests and needs of those attending. Those who want to work on a specific monologue or soliloquy are encouraged to bring the text, however this is not a requirement. Participants should dress to move, and all-abilities are welcome.

Michael has appeared in leading and featured roles at Tony award-winning Trinity Rep (under both Adrian Hall and Anne Bogart), the Dallas Theatre Center, The Public Theater, and PBS, among many others. Michael is listed on the Teaching Artist Roster for the New Hampshire State Council on the Arts and recently directed at the Winnipesaukee Playhouse.

The Masterclass and Workshop series will continue in 2019 with sessions focused on character development, and Peter Josephson will return with his ever-popular Michael Chekhov Acting Technique workshop.
