JUST IN: NBC's HAIRSPRAY LIVE Now Accepting Tracy Turnblad Video Auditions!

NBC previously announced an open casting call for the role of Tracy Turnblad in their upcoming presentation of HAIRSPRAY LIVE! The official casting notice reads: "Seeking actor to play high school age. Must be able to play a heavyset female, outgoing, unstoppable, good-hearted with a vibrant, lovable spirited personality. Loves to dance. Becomes a teen heroine. Strong pop belt singer and great mover. Must be 18-years-old or older."

Today it was announced that video auditions will now be accepted for the role! Check out all the details on how to submit online HERE!

Craig Zadan and Neil Meron ("The Wiz Live!," "The Sound of Music Live!," "Peter Pan Live!") serve as executive producers of "Hairspray Live!." Kenny Leon will direct with Harvey Fiersteinproviding new written material. Jerry Mitchell will serve as choreographer with songwriting byMarc Shaiman and Scott Wittman. "Hairspray Live!" is produced by Universal Television. This week is was announced that Jennifer Hudson, Harvey Fierstein, Martin Short and Derek Hough will star in the show which will be broadcast live from Los Angeles. GREASE LIVE and DANCING WITH THE STARS director Alex Rudzinski has also joined the creative team.

HAIRSPRAY LIVE! will air on NBC on Wednesday, Dec. 7th.
