EXTENSION: STRANGEST THINGS! THE MUSICAL Extends Through 7/8 at Greenhouse Theater Center

Due to popular demand, Random Acts and Greenhouse Theater Center are pleased to announce a second extension of the hit world premiere STRANGEST THINGS! THE MUSICAL by Bryan Renaud and Emily Schmidt and directed and choreographed by Tommy Rivera-Vega. The runaway hit based on the popular Netflix sci-fi series Stranger Things, currently scheduled through May 13, 2017, will add an additional six-week block of performances from June 3 - July 8, 2017 at Greenhouse Theater Center (Downstairs Mainstage), 2257 N. Undermain Theatre's 34th season examines the world from a largely female perspective with three mainstage productions and adds a 4 week reading series of new American work in the spring. Our world premiere and season opener examines the world of Mexican cartels as portrayed by an all-female cast, by an evolving young writer. Our fall production is a regional premiere of an established Pulitzer-prize winning playwright, which takes place in an American setting inhabited and driven by three different generations of women in an eerie atmosphere near a Civil War battleground. New England Premiere Opens Gloucester Stage 2017 Season

Gloucester Stage Company kicks off its 38th season of professional theater on Cape Ann with the New England Premiere of John Kolvenbach's Bank Job from May 19 through June 10 at 267 East Main Street, Gloucester, MA. For two brothers, Russell and Tracey, new to the armed robbery industry, what seems like easy money turns out to be a lot more difficult than it looks in the movies in John Kolvenbach's hilarious Bank Job. When heist plans A and B (and C through F) fail, the brothers find themselves locked in the executive bathroom with no way out and no choice but to depend on a brave bank teller, a guileless cop, and the man in the shadows who put them up to the whole thing. A fun comedy, Bank Job is about the holes we dig ourselves into-and the unexpected comrades we trust to dig us out. While walking down 1st ave. In Manhattan NYC, I was introduced to a place called 'House of Jai Yoga” by fellow dancer Wendy Goldhill whom I had know since 1979 during my time as a young dancer, singer & performer here in NYC. I was reluctant but figured I would join her and bore myself with a bit of much needed stretching. To my surprise, I found myself enveloped by a delicious surrounding and blend of music, fragrance, comfort and performance. The 2 Master Yoga Trainers I experienced were Justin Randolph, a gentle yet confident young man with a background in voice & theatre and then to Angela Rauscher who took me to a place that brought me to tears. The combination of music, texture and personal journey of their own made my mind connect truly to my body. Mind, body & spirit is so loosely used in yoga and very few actually display it. Well, after all, Talent is key in teaching and getting through to anyone and both of these Master Yoga Trainers have just that! Talent! (more...)

The season kicks off with MINOR CHARACTER: SIX TRANSLATIONS OF UNCLE VANYA, created by New Saloon (Morgan Green, Madeline Wise, and Milo Cramer), followed by FAR AWAY by Caryl Churchill (Love and Information). The season will conclude with a new, intimate chamber production of Meredith Willson's THE MUSIC MAN.
