by Matt Tamanini - Oct 25, 2015

The fall is a special time for Broadway fans, with new plays and musicals opening left and right. However, it is also a special time of year for sports fans, with the baseball playoffs in full swing, college and pro football seasons well underway, and the hockey and basketball schedules kicking off. Inspired by the fact that the New York Mets have advanced to the World Series to take on the Kansas City Royals, Jeff Walker and I decided to take a look at some of the places where sports and Broadway mix. After I graduated from The Ohio State University (college football's defending champion and current No. 1 team, by the way), my first few jobs were in covering and coaching college and professional sports. BWW Review: THE PRINCE AND THE SHOWBOY Return to STERLING'SBWW Review: THE PRINCE AND THE SHOWBOY Return to STERLING'S
by Don Grigware - Dec 29, 2015

When Faith Prince and Jason Graae first performed their show The Prince and the Showboy at Sterling's Upstairs at the Federal in June, 2012, I wrote, '...there were enough sparks to set Sterling's Upstairs at the Federal on fire as Jason Graae and Tony Award winner Faith Prince seized the stage with the premiere of their new show The Prince and the Showboy to an adoring packed house. Well, the show played 54 Below in New York and has returned to the Federal - December 27 and 28 for two nights only. It's now about 20 minutes longer, bringing it in at 90 minutes and allowing each of the stars to concentrate more fully on dramatic career transitions, especially for Prince. (more...)
