Beach, who created the role of Henry in The Great American Mousical at Goodspeed's Norma Terris Theatre in 2012 is a comic genius (loved him in the original Urinetown on Broadway). The producers of the spectacular new national touring production of THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA announced today that Tony Award nominee Brad Oscar will assume the role of 'Monsieur Firmin' when he joins the production in Philadelphia at the Academy of Music, beginning Monday, April 7. He joins Cooper Grodin as 'The Phantom,' Julia Udine as 'Christine Daae,' Ben Jacoby as 'Raoul,' Jacquelynne Fontaine as 'Carlotta Giudicelli,' Edward Staudenmayer as 'Monsieur Andre,'Linda Balgord as 'Madame Giry,' Frank Viveros as 'Ubaldo Piangi' and Hannah Florence as 'Meg Giry'. The Michael Morones Foundation today announced additional performers includingLaura Benanti for a one-night only benefit concert entitled Broadway Battles Bullying to take place on Monday, April 14 at 7:00 p.m. at New York University's Skirball Center for the Performing Arts. The benefit and silent auction, which will be hosted by Shakina Nayfack, will raise money for the newly created Michael Morones Foundation, which works to educate communities about youth suicide prevention and the effects of bullying. The benefit concert is presented by an honorary host committee of Broadway, screen, and music veterans including Sir Ian McKellen, Sir Patrick Stewart, Mary-Louise Parker, Paula Cole, Megan Hilty, Jonathan Groff, and Julia Murney, who have all generously donated their support to the Michael Morones Foundation. Off-Broadway's DISASTER! Plays Final Performance Tonight

DISASTER!, the 1970s disaster movie musical comedy, will play its final performance Off-Broadway tonight, April 11th, after a smash six-month run at the St. Luke's Theatre (308 W. 46th Street). Disaster! began previews on October 14th, 2013 and opened to critical acclaim on November 4th, 2013. The musical, which performs in repertory with other productions at the St. Luke's Theatre, will have played 11 previews and 86 performances at the time of its closing. (more...)
