Based on a story written by five year olds, Naughty Cat and the Cheesy Moon is one of the offerings from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland at this year's festival. Naughty Cat is bored of ruining furniture and peeing on the carpet, so when she finds out that the moon is made of cheese and inhabited by chocolate mice, she has to get there! Naughty Cat steals a rocket and sets off on her adventure while pursued by NASA from their base in Port Glasgow.

The quality of Naughty Cat and the Cheesy Moon is exceptional. The songs are fantastic and annoyingly catchy, and the vocals are incredible. I would say that this show is for fans of musical theatre as well as for children, because the whole production is just excellent.

Naughty Cat is a lot of fun for everybody. It's really interactive for the children in the audience, and there are panto-esque elements to it that everybody can get involved in. As an adult, I thought it was wonderful, but it was the awestruck kids who were watching quite literally open-mouthed throughout that made the production so special.

Naughty Cat and the Cheesy Moon runs on alternative days at Assembly Checkpoint.
