The creators of Hamilton were recently honored for their contributions to American culture at the Kennedy Center Honors. Shortly after, director Thomas Kail, choreographer Andy Blankenbuehler, music director Alex Lacamoire, and writer-lyricist-actor Lin-Manuel Miranda sat down for an extended interview with "CBS This Morning" co-host John Dickerson.

The last few weeks have been pretty epic for New York's own, Lin-Manuel Miranda! With the success and rave reviews from Mary Poppins Returns, receiving a Kennedy center honor for Hamilton and now preparing to reprise his role in Puerto Rico for the launch of the third national tour of Hamilton, it's safe to say that Miranda is on top of the world!

Hamilton is keeping the holiday medleys rolling with a tune from the Schuyler Sisters of Hamilton on Broadway, Mandy Gonzalez, Denee Benton, and Alysha Deslorieux. In honor of the first official day of winter yesterday, the trio recorded a rendition of "Silent Night" in Spanish and English.

Every so often the musical theatre landscape experiences a swell of enthusiasm and excitement for a fresh, new and engaging play. Theatre fans (and casual viewers) alike can recall the hype when THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA or LES MISERABLES first opened (and went on tour). More recently the WICKED phenomenon brought young and old alike out to experience the magic and electricity that only a live performance can elicit. Like its popular predecessors, it has recently begun touring around the country - riding the wave of enthusiasm and further cementing its place as a true pop-culture phenomenon. But unlike its flashy, big budget predecessors, HAMILTON, in many ways, lives in its own category. It is a show that is modern, fresh, and that pushes boundaries and delivers in two and a half hours an experience unlike anything this reviewer has experienced before. I am thrilled to say, in the production that has now arrived at the Bushnell Center for the Performing Arts in Hartford, CT - HAMILTON shines brilliantly, delivering in every way (and beyond) on the hype that precedes it.

Lin-Manuel Miranda has just released another demo recorded during the early days of Hamilton! Of the track, 'This One's Mine', Miranda says: 'I wrote this song about Eliza meeting Hamilton. I played it for my wife. She said, 'Eh. It's good, but it doesn't feel like your final draft.' I stormed off. HOW DARE SHE? An hour later, I wrote Helpless. She was right.'

Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts announced today the 2019 class of Emerging Artists, recognizing diverse and exceptional talents. Each recipient was nominated by one of Lincoln Center's eleven resident organizations, acknowledging their extraordinary talent and promising career. The 2019 winners are: singer and actress Mikaela Bennett (The Juilliard School); dancer Savannah Durham (School of American Ballet); composer and sound artist Ashley Fure (Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts and the New York Philharmonic); actor Nadine Malouf (Lincoln Center Theater); bassist Endea Owens (Jazz at Lincoln Center); soprano Gabriella Reyes (The Metropolitan Opera); musician Adam Tendler (The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts); dancer Sebastian Villarini-Velez (New York City Ballet); filmmaker Eduardo Williams (Film Society of Lincoln Center); and violinist Angelo Xiang Yu (The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center). Each of the awardees will receive $7,500 to be used for career advancement.

When I heard about the topic of the new Baltimore Center Stage production of A WONDER IN MY SOUL, I initially thought it would be a female version of the film 'Barber Shop' Well, let me tell you, it is NOT!!!!
