Gina Galati’s wonderful Winter Opera company continues its 17th season with Puccini’s Manon Lescaut.  This work, which opened in 1893, was Puccini’s first great hit.  It was rather daring of Puccini to present this piece, based as it was on a novel that had already been adapted to opera by two other composers—first by Daniel Aubert (1856), and then in a hugely successful work by Jules Massenet 1884. 

Dive into the new year with the Museum of Discovery and Science's ocean-themed January events. Swim alongside majestic giant blue whales, 'shell'-ebrate marine life, and voyage to the deep in a new traveling exhibit debuting on Jan. 26.

AMC Networks has licensed the U.S. and Canadian linear and streaming rights to Nautilus, a 10-episode live-action series inspired by Jules Verne’s beloved Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea, from Disney Entertainment. Nautilus tells the origin story of the iconic Captain Nemo: an Indian Prince robbed of his birthright and family.

AROUND THE WORLD IN 80 DAYS on Hale Centre Theatre’s Centre Stage in Sandy is an intrepid, invigorating interpretation of a classic. The play itself is not as expressive as the production, but director Dave Tinney and his team of designers have made a series of bold choices that are certainly nothing you’ve seen before or are likely to see again.

Wiltshire Creative with Octagon Theatre Bolton have announced the full cast and creative team for Jeeves and Wooster in Perfect Nonsense. Marieke Audsley directs Luke Barton (Bertie Wooster), Patrick Warner (Jeeves) and Alistair Cope (Seppings). The production will feature design by Olivia du Monceau with lighting design by Jane Lalljee and sound design by Matt Eaton.

The Greek National Opera partners with one of the most important and historic opera houses in Europe, the Opéra Comique in Paris, for an adaptation of Jacques Offenbach's Le Voyage dans la Lune, staged and with costumes by the acclaimed French director Laurent Pelly, and featuring the children's and youth choruses of both institutions.

In “Journey to the Center of the Earth,” Diego (Sebastián García) is sent by his parents to a camp run by Pompilio Calderón (Óscar Jaenada). There, together with his siblings and friends, he finds the abandoned car of his grandmother Pola (Margarita Rosa de Francisco), and following her footsteps.
