Kinsane Entertainment Inc, a global kids and family entertainment company owned by Rainshine Entertainment, announces the acquisition of the book adaptation rights for best-selling author Jason Henderson's YOUNG CAPTAIN NEMO, an Amazon.com chart-topping middle-grade fiction trilogy. Kinsane will develop the literary franchise as an animated series, as mobile games, consumer products, and more for worldwide release.

Melina: A Steampunk Musical is a dash of Shakespeare, a dollop of Jules Verne, a pinch of Sherlock Holmes, a smidgen of Phantom of the Opera, and a splash of Greek tragedy mixed with an utterly original pop opera. “VOICES” is the fourth album by the Italian new prog band MANGALA VALLIS. An album that, once again, moves out of the path marked by the previous one, this happens because every creation of the band is the result of an ever changing journey, accelerated, mostly, by the events that occur inside the same band. It happened that the old members Cavalli Cocchi, Consolini, Milazzo and Tiranti were joined by an old friend of the band, Gianfranco Fornaciari, as a keyboard player and song writer.

Gamut Theatre's Stage Door Series is excited to present the radio play Journey to The Center of The Earth by Jules Verne, adapted by John De Lancie from the script by Nat Segaloff. Fearless adventurer Phileas Fogg has agreed to an outrageous wager that puts his fortune and his life at risk. Alongside his resourceful servant Passepartout, Fogg sets out to circle the globe in an unheard-of 80 days, but his every step is dogged by a detective who thinks he's a robber on the run. Danger, romance, and comic surprises abound in this whirlwind of a show.

Theatre Raleigh's first show of their 2019-2020 Family Series, AROUND THE WORLD IN 80 DAYS, is a fetching and cute musical suitable for the whole family. It's a simplified concise adaptation of the 1873 Jules Verne novel of the same name packed down into a sixty-minute run time. With an adventure story, talented cast, and playful set, it's a show well worth seeing, especially if you have young children.

Bidders will have a chance to own their own personal piece of Disneyland at Profiles in History's upcoming Animation & Disneyana Auction. Treasures on offer include rare Disneyland ride vehicles, park décor, and attraction posters, as well as animation art from some of the most beloved movies and TV shows of all time, and original illustrations by artists like Dr. Seuss. The auction will take place October 18th in Los Angeles.

Having its preview in October, Gretchen is reaching out to the community via a Kickstarter fundraiser https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/melinamusical/melina-a-steampunk-musical-tragedy through October 25 for a demo recording to submit to festivals. In October, Melina will have its first official Table Read at Just Write, Lakeland and have a five song preview in Mount Dora at the Renningers Flea Market Industrial Steampunk Festival. On March 7, 2020, the musical is scheduled to have a full stage reading at the Carrollwood Cultural Center.

Goodman Theatre has welcomed four Chicago-based writers to its Playwrights Unit. The 2019-20 playwrights are Monty Cole, Nancy García Loza, Alex Lubischer, and Steve Pickering, according to American Theatre.

The fourth annual OHANA FESTIVAL--the three-day festival curated by Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder--has expanded the Storytellers Cove at the festival set for Friday, September 27-Sunday, September 29 on the beautiful Doheny State Beachin Dana Point, CA. Beyond OHANA's musical line-up--which will once again bring its mix of powerful headlining sets, standout collaborations and performances from emerging talent--the Storytellers Stage Presented By Zippo In The COVE at OHANAwill include a collection of professional surfers, conservationists, artists and National Geographic photographers.
