Roundabout Theatre Company has announced that the Broadway premiere of Trouble in Mind by Alice Childress, is partnering with radio station 107.5 WBLS-FM, the nation’s most recognizable Black radio station, offering 300 tickets at $19.57 to every preview performance in every section of the theater.

BroadwayWorld has just learned that Lincoln Center Theater has shifted opening dates for Flying Over Sunset. The new musical with book and direction by James Lapine, music by Tom Kitt and lyrics by Michael Korie, and featuring choreography by Michelle Dorrance, will begin performances on Thursday, November 11 and open on Monday, December 13 in the Vivian Beaumont Theater.

Roundabout Theatre Company has just announced that Tony & Emmy Award winner LaChanze will star in the Broadway premiere of Trouble in Mind by Alice Childress, directed by Charles Randolph-Wright. LaChanze is a founding member of Black Theatre United; she returns to Broadway following A Christmas Carol (2019) and Summer: The Donna Summer Musical (2018), for which she received a Tony Award nomination for Best Performance by a Leading Actress in a Musical.

Lincoln Center Theater has announced an online ticket lottery for its new musical FLYING OVER SUNSET, beginning with the musical's first preview Thursday, March 12 at 8pm at the Vivian Beaumont Theater (150 West 65 Street). This May, the National Yiddish Theatre Folksbiene (NYTF)-Zalmen Mlotek, Artistic Director, Dominick Balletta, Executive Director-will present The Tenth Man, the Tony-nominated play by Paddy Chayefsky (the three-time Academy Award-winning author of Network, Marty, and The Hospital) in a newly commissioned Yiddish translation, directed by Tony Award-nominated director Eleanor Reissa. The Tenth Man will be performed from May 17 to June 11, Off Broadway at the Museum of Jewish Heritage - A Living Memorial to the Holocaust, Edmond J. Safra Plaza, 36 Battery Place, NYC.

Today, producers Brian Moreland, Ron Simons, Eric Falkenstein, Mike Jackson and singer John Legend announced complete casting for Blue, a play by Charles Randolph-Wright and directed by Phylicia Rashad which will play a 16-week limited engagement at New York's legendary Apollo Theater (253 West 125th Street) in Harlem starting Monday, April 27 with opening night set for May 10.. Blue will run through August 16.

On December 8th, The National Yiddish Theatre Folksbiene premiered The Sorceress (Di Kishefmakherin), a magical, musical Yiddish fantasy starring an innocent young heroine, her dashing fiancé, a devious stepmother, and a scheming witch that takes its audience into a world of illusion, intrigue, and suspense. Among the opening night guests were Jana Robbins and Haley Swindal.
