The Reston Community Players continue their 55th Season with the new musical, Bright Star, a collaboration between Grammy, Emmy, and Academy Award-winner Steve Martin and Grammy Award-winner Edie Brickell. Inspired by a true story, this heartwarming tale features a rousing bluegrass score and runs April 22 – May 8, 2022 at CenterStage at Reston Community Center.

The Tony Awards Administration Committee met today to confirm the eligibility status of seven Broadway productions for the 2021-2022 season.  This was the second time the Tony Awards Administration Committee met to decide the eligibility for the 75th Annual Tony Awards. The Tony Awards are presented by The Broadway League and the American Theatre Wing.

The original Broadway cast album of the Lincoln Center Theater production of Flying Over Sunset will now be released digitally February 18, 2022 and on CD April 1, 2022. 

Edie Brickell has penned a new musical called '38 Minutes', which tells the story of her personal experience living through the 2018 false alarm nuclear missile alert in Hawaii.

Today, January 16, Broadway says goodbye to four beloved productions. Flying Over Sunset will conclude its run at the Vivian Beaumont Theatre following 28 previews and 35 regular performances; Clyde's wraps up at the Hayes Theatre following 24 previews and 61 regular performances; Ain't Too Proud finishes it's almost three-year run at the Imperial Theatre after 21 previews and 488 regular performances; and To Kill A Mockingbird pauses performances at the Shubert Theatre following 45 previews and 626 regular performances.

Lincoln Center Theater has announced that its production of FLYING OVER SUNSET, the new musical with book and direction by James Lapine, music by Tom Kitt, lyrics by Michael Korie, featuring choreography by Michelle Dorrance, will end its limited engagement run after the Sunday, January 16th matinee at the Vivian Beaumont Theater.
