President of the Broadway Advocacy Coalition and Tony Award recipient Britton Smith released his latest single today, recorded with The Sting, 'Holdin On'.

The Broadway Advocacy Coalition has announced the second annual BAC Artivism Fellowship to support artist activists using their tools to have an impact on the world around them. Applications are due Thursday, November 25th, 2021.

The acclaimed production, which received a Special Tony Award at the Tony Awards ceremony on September 26, features David Byrne with returning band members Jacquelene Acevedo, Gustavo Di Dalva, Daniel Freedman, Chris Giarmo, Tim Keiper, Tendayi Kuumba, Karl Mansfield, Mauro Refosco, Stéphane San Juan, Angie Swan and Bobby Wooten III.

CHICKEN & BISCUITS, the new comedy written by Douglas Lyons and directed by Zhailon Levingston, made its Broadway debut just last night, October 10, at the Circle in the Square Theatre (235 West 50th Street.) Just yesterday, the Broadway Advocacy Coalition had much to celebrate as one of the recipients of a special award at the 74th Annual Tony Awards. 

After two and a half years without Broadway's biggest night, the Tony Awards returned on Sunday, Sept. 26! This year's presentation honored the outstanding shows, performances and artistry of the 2019-2020 Broadway season.

Today's episode features the Co-founder and President of the Broadway Advocacy Coalition (BAC), Britton Smith is. In addition to his work as an advocate and facilitator and adjunct professor at Columbia Law School, Britton is a Broadway actor recently featured in Be More Chill, Shuffle Along and After Midnight.

Britton Smith is a force to be reckoned with. He is a tornado of talent and energy grounded in self-love that expands ever outward to embrace all of his audience. Britton & the Sting is a self-described “funk liberation band.” But that label is not broad enough. They are an all-inclusive advocacy collective that encourages every member of its audience to be its highest self. That sounds like touchy-feely nonsense, but in the case of Britton & the Sting, it is one hundred percent gospel truth. Everyone left their show feeling better about themselves and thinking they can achieve whatever they set their mind to. Why? Because Britton told us so.
