A new musical parody of Riverdale is heading to Los Angeles for one night only on Monday, October 17th at the Bourbon Room at 8pm. Created by Laura Wiley (Buffy Kills Edward, Sex and the Musical), the show has all kinds of music styles, ranging from country to pop punk to 60's girl group, and will feature a surprise crossover twist.

Cherry Poppins presents their one-nighter XOXO Euphoria Girl – A Burlesque Musical Parody September 26, 2022, at The Bourbon Room. The team of Alli Miller-Fisher, Chadd McMillan and Sarah Haworth-Hodges direct this Burlesque musical parody mashup set to chart-topping music with the cast of: Ty Deran, Kristyn Evelyn, Everjohn Feliciano, Bianca Gisselle, Emma Hunton,  Carly Jibson, Janaya Mahealani Jones, Meredith Lim, Alli Miller-Fisher, Matthew Scott Montgomery, Shelly Regner, Sarah Wines, Lauren Avon and Brin Hamblin. Emma managed to carve out some time to answer a few of my queries.

(mostly)musicals at Feinstein's at Vitello's With (mostly)musicals' next show, CLOTHES LINES, just around the corner on September 15th, let's look back at their sold out return to the stage on Wednesday, July 7th, HAPPY RETURNS! It was the first show in front of a LIVE audience on the Vitello's stage after 16 dark months, so of course it sold out in advance. Producer amy francis schott says, “We could not be more thrilled and honored to have been invited to be the first show back at our favorite venue after so many months!”

Celebration Theatre announced its first-ever online theatre festival CELEBRATING PRIDE. HAMLET THE ROCK MUSICAL with book, music and lyrics by Cliff Jones, with additional music and lyrics by Craig Fair, has undergone a few incarnations since its Broadway run in the late 70s. The launch of a re-imagined 21st Century version, produced by David Carver Music, magnificently directed by Bill Castellino, with conductor Doug Oberhamer's music direction and choreography by Janet Roston, certainly proves there's something still rockin' in Denmark! And even those not familiar with the Shakespeare's classic tragedy will be able to understand the story, performed as a sung-through musical with enough heartfelt emotions on display to leave no doubt as to how and why the characters interact with one another to mostly bad results.

In 1976 on Broadway, just 11 songs into the 2-hour performance, the audience erupted into a show stopping standing ovation. That, and the well-earned nightly show-ending standing ovations proved how powerful and moving this musical was in '76 and will be again in February, with the re-imagined 21st century version of Hamlet The Rock Musical.
