This year the season, dubbed "The Language of Love," will include the Edmond Rostand classic Cyrano de Bergerac, adapted by Gabriel Barre, Rick Sordelet and Alexander Sovronsky, directed by Gabriel Barre, in rep with the World Premiere of the Cyrano-inspired play Burning by Ginger Lazarus, directed by Eric Parness. The season begins on February 3 and will run through February 28, 2016 at the Theatre at St. Clement's (423 West 46th Street). Tickets are $18 and can be purchased at ResonanceEnsemble.org.

Cyrano de Bergerac by Edmond Rostand

Adapted by Gabriel Barre, Rick Sordelet and Alex Sovronsky.

Begins performances Wednesday, February 3rd at 8PM and will open on Monday, February 8, 2016.

Cyrano de Bergerac is the most popular French play ever produced and has inspired countless productions and films throughout the world. In this new adaptation, the rich and romantic tale is brought to life by an intimate cast of eight actor/musicians and features direction by Gabriel Barre (who also appears in the title role), action direction by Rick Sordelet and an original musical score by Alex Sovronsky. The show promises to be fun filled and fast paced, with audience interactive staging making full use of the expansive and unique space at the Theatre at St. Clement's.

Burning by Ginger Lazarus, directed By Eric Parness

Begins performances, Wednesday, February 3rd at 2PM and will open on Sunday, February 7, 2016 at 7PM

In Burning, Cyrano has become Cy, a woman kicked out of the Army for being gay, who, like Cyrano, suffers from insecurity that prevents her from pursuing love. She now takes on the world with her words, blogging from her country store in a remote Western town near the base where she last served. The play is not only a fresh take on the Cyrano story, it tackles critical contemporary issues of gender inequality, discrimination based on sexual orientation, and military abuse. In love and war, words unspoken are the words that burn.

"This season perfectly exemplifies our mission, which is to present revitalized classics and new works they inspire. I am honored to work with such a talented group of award winning artists to explore the universal quest to overcome the obstacles, both internal and external, that stand in the way of finding our true happiness. I hope everyone who sees these shows comes away feeling more aware of the preciousness of love and appreciative of the power of language to express it." Resonance Ensemble Managing Director, Rachel Reiner.
