E! is proud to have respected journalist and author Laura Ling as our new host of E! Investigates.

Ling recently served as Vice President of Current TV's journalism department where she created the investigative documentary series Vanguard. In March 2009, while reporting on the trafficking of North Korean women, Ling was detained by North Korean soldiers along the Chinese-North Korean border. She and colleague Euna Lee were arrested and held captive for 140 days before being granted a special pardon and returning to the United States.

For E! Investigates, Ling will delve into some of today's most important and controversial topics with her signature in-depth analytical style
