In "Virginia Cary Hudson: The Jigs & Juleps! Girl: Her Life and Writings" (published by iUniverse) author Beverly Mayne Kienzle shares the story of her grandmother, Virginia Cary Hudson, author of "O Ye Jigs and Juleps!," a New York Times bestseller in 1962.

Kienzle publishes letters, poems and drawings that her grandmother made for her, as well as Hudson's own accounts of experiences when she accompanied her horseman husband to race tracks from Kentucky to Cuba to Las Vegas. This is a panorama of late 1940s and early 1950s America, populated by simple folk and notorious gangsters.

"I vowed to complete the story that my mother began, to prove that Virginia Cary Hudson had lived and that her adult writings exhibited the spirit and the faith that she had displayed at the age of (10)," Kienzle says, adding that the book will inspire readers to fulfill their dreams.
"It will appeal to readers who are dismayed at the erosion of trust, communication and civility in today's society and especially to women who strive to have their voices heard on important matters."

Kienzle describes the book as "a striking blend of memoir and biography" and "a refreshing story of faith, trust and love over three generations."
