Quote of the Day: A moment from the movie WAITRESS, in honor of the musical's opening tonight...

"Dear Baby, I hope someday somebody wants to hold you for 20 minutes straight and that's all they do. They don't pull away. They don't look at your face. They don't try to kiss you. All they do is wrap you up in their arms and hold on tight, without an ounce of selfishness to it." - Jenna in the film WAITRESS (via IMDb)

What we're watching: Rachel York, currently starring in the show at Bay Street, performing "Around the World" from GREY GARDENS!

Video of the Day: Watch the WAITRESS movie trailer, starring Keri Russell, while eating pie for breakfast, if possible!
And a Happy Birthday shout-out to Joan Allen, who turns 59 today!
Allen last starred on Broadway in IMPRESSIONISM and before that, in THE HEIDI CHRONICLES (which earned her a Tony nomination) and BURN THIS (for which she won the 1988 Tony Award for Best Actress in a Play). She launched her career in the late '70s with Chicago's acclaimed Steppenwolf Theatre Company. The actress has received three Oscar nominations -- for NIXON, THE CRUCIBLE and THE CONTENDER. Among her other film credits are the BOURNE movies, THE NOTEBOOK, PLEASANTVILLE, FACE/OFF, THE ICE STORM and more.
