REGALS MUSICAL SOCIETY, one of Sydney's oldest musical societies is celebrating its 70th birthday. To mark the occasion Regals Musical Society is embarking on its most challenging production ever....the NSW Amateur Premiere of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

Called the most fantasmagorical stage musical of all time, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang appeared at the Capitol Theatre in 2012. It left audiences of all ages mesmerised with its extraordinary sets and brilliant special effects. Now, this all new production is coming to Rockdale Town Hall for three magical weeks from 1 to 16 May.

Director, Danielle Nicholls-Fuller is relishing the opportunity to bring their 'Fine Four Fendered Friend' to the stage. "It will certainly be a challenge. The number one question that I have been asked is 'How are you going to make the car fly?' All I can say is that an experienced technical team has been assembled whose sole responsibility was to develop the car - and it will be amazing! To find out more you'll have to come and see the show."

The story revolves around Caractacus Potts, a struggling inventor with two children, Pott's eccentric grandfather and the beautiful Truly Scrumptious, a member of the upper class. After buying an old wreck from a junkyard, Potts transforms the wreck into a beautiful roadster rechristened Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. The adventure begins when Baron Bomburst, deciding he wants the vehicle, greedily attempts to snatch up the car and the inventor. Only instead he kidnaps Grandpa. Now, with the magical Chitty Chitty Bang Bang on their side, the family goes on an incredible adventure to rescue Grandpa and defeat the nefarious Baron.
