New Club Remix of 'The Raven' from NEVERMORE Released

Broadway Records today announced the release of The Raven (from "Nevermore") [Remix] - EP, an extended play recording containing three versions of the song "The Raven" from the gothic opera Nevermore - The Imaginary Life and Mysterious Death of Edgar Allan Poe, written and composed by Jonathan Christenson: a Single Version of the song as performed on the Original Off-Broadway Cast Recording of Nevermore, a Club Remix version, and a Radio Remix version. Both remixes were created by DJ and music producer Julian Marsh.

Digital downloads of The Raven (from "Nevermore") [Remix] - EP are currently available for purchase on iTunes and Apple Music, and on the Broadway Records website at www.broadwayrecords.com/mp3. The CD is currently available for pre-order and a limited number of CDs will be available for purchase as of August 21, 2015 at www.broadwayrecords.com/ep or in stores and through internet-based retailers including Amazon.com.

Nevermore - The Imaginary Life and Mysterious Death of Edgar Allan Poe is a unique operatic musical play about one of the world's most famous and fascinating writers. Described by The New York Times as "exquisitely stylish ... a gothic fantasia," and by The Huffington Post as "wonderfully creepy and mesmerizing," Nevermore played acclaimed engagements across Canada and in London before premiering Off-Broadway at New World Stages on January 25, 2015, where it played an eleven-week engagement.

The haunting Original Off-Broadway Cast Recording of Nevermore was released by Broadway Records on June 16, 2015. The cast album was produced as a double-disc CD containing virtually the complete show, consisting of underscored verse and songs ranging from Weimar cabaret tunes to rock power ballads. "Like Jesus Christ Superstar or The Who's Tommy, the Nevermore cast album tells a complete theatrical story, in a rock opera format," said Nevermore lead producers M. Kilburg Reedy and Jason Grossman. "'The Raven' song is a mash-up of two poems by Poe - his most famous poem combined with the lesser-known 'Lenore' - creating a rock anthem that is a thrilling climactic moment in the show's second act."

According to Van Dean, the founder of Broadway Records, the Original Off-Broadway Cast Recording of Nevermore has emerged as one of the label's best-selling cast recordings. Nevermore was written, composed, and directed by Jonathan Christenson, with production design by Bretta Gerecke, choreography by Laura Krewski, sound design by Wade Staples, instrumental music track production by Matthew Skopyk, and voice, speech and text direction by Betty Moulton. The Nevermore Original Off-Broadway Cast Recording features the acclaimed performances of cast members Gaelan Beatty, Shannon Blanchet, Beth Graham, Ryan Parker, Garett Ross, Scott Shpeley, and Lindsie VanWinkle.

The Original Off-Broadway Cast Recording of Nevermore was produced by seven-time Emmy Award winner and one-time Grammy nominee Michael Croiter (cast albums for Matilda, Big Fish, Heathers), Radio Mouse Entertainment and Caiola Productions, and co-produced by Matthew Skopyk. It was executive produced by M. Kilburg Reedy for Radio Mouse Entertainment and Van Dean for Broadway Records. The remixes were produced by Julian Marsh, a DJ and music producer since 1995, who has DJ-ed all over the world and produced music for legends such as Dolly Parton, Gloria Gaynor, Whitney Houston and Celine Dion.
