ArtsRock and Temple Beth Torah in association with Leonard Kurz present KITKA Women's Vocal Ensemble on Sunday, May 18th at 3pm. KITKA has gained an international reputation for bringing a fresh perspective to the sumptuous harmonies and rhythms of traditional Balkan, Slavic and Eastern European Jewish music. KITKA explores a vast palette of ancient, yet contemporary-sounding vocal effects, which evoke an astonishing range of emotions with a commitment to presenting traditional song as a living and evolving expressive art form. This very special evening is dedicated in loving memory of Edythe Kurz.

This concert was initiated by Leonard Kurz because, "My mother loved Rockland County and when she saw the public television program that I produced with KITKA she fell in love with their music. It's an honor to have KITKA come from Oakland, CA to perform this concert in memory of my mother."
